It's a terrible cover. Chisholm looks like a clown in that pose. He could potentially be one of the most exciting players in the game, but so far hasn't proven he can stay healthy enough to do it.
I said I wasn't going to get 22 and I didn't. I still have a lot do on 20 and 21, and it just seemed like a pricey roster update and a fresh coat of paint.
I am a weak hitter, so I doubt I will get the stuff done I need before it is too late in the season to start 23, even if it turns out to be a great game. I would just wait for the next season, because honestly, unless radical changes are made to graphics, sound, and game play most sports games are a pricey roster update and fresh coat of paint.

Again, I don't hate Chisholm. I don't care that he was the cover athelete. I do think they could have gone another direction.
As for your implied reason why you think people hate Chisholm, come out and say it.Why am I an active member of the forum? I don't know, because I care about my experience, and this is a forum of people who play the game. I didn't realize it was supposed to be a forum to lick SDS's boots.

making it seem like a 60 $ investment for something you could play for an entire year is a lot, but not everyone has the same financial situation so to each their own.
I didn't mean that I could not afford it, but really, if it's going to end up with minimal changes and a new color scheme, then it's not worth the investment if I am already actively playing and somewhat enjoying the version I am working on.

Hahaha, this post got crazy real fast. Eh, All I’m thinking is they kinda let the cat out of the bag last year when they had that whole segment on Jazz creating his card and visiting SDS. No need for the lengthy stream trying to build drama when you more or less told everyone it was Jazz last year. I think he was having an exciting season, made the All Star team and that is when they chose him. It’s fine, it’s a silly cover. To me it looks like a cheesy 90s wrestling VHS cover but hey… I loved those.
I don’t believe the cover choice has anything to do with how the game will look and play. That’s a whole other discussion. People hated the Takashi cover last year, but once those cards started rolling out like Delgado, Babe, Foxx and Griffey, nobody cared anymore. It’s a cover. I just hope they have a cool new legend for the special edition.

Possibly, but the reveal "show" was so cringey that I think it was far more embarrassing than choosing Chisholm. Bringing in an NBA player to hype a baseball game? Really? They could have ponied up the money to get at least one MLB player that is an actual player of the show. Heck they could have even used it to set a false flag for the cover athlete.
The feed was running non stop with "nobody cares what this guy has to say" and "just show the stinking cover"
Imagine the scene Blake Snell or Julio Rodriguez is doing the interview instead, and the SDS guy says "so, how do you feel about being on the cover of the game?" and have the athlete goes "great, but it's actually (holds up large posterboard of actual cover).
Far more entertaining than what we got instead.
Donovan Mitchell Sr is an executive for the NY Mets, I could be wrong but I believe Donovan Mitchell Jr played high school baseball and is a big mets fan and MLB TheShow fan as well, they brought him in to hype mets fans and get them thinking it was Lindor.

Bro can you read? I said there are plenty of legit reasons to not like the cover. All I said was that it is naive to not think there are some racist dbags that are mad about it

Yeah but you could literally say that about anything they choose a person for. And especially if it is a "lighter" colored skin person chosen. You can bet there are a TON of Dbags that think the same thing.

To be honest with you, I have never met one of those people so I don't really know. I'm not from here (USA), moved here a little over a year ago. Plenty of diversity here in South Texas, and even though I'm not naive to think those people don't exist here, everyone seem to get along just fine.

I can think of two other players I would’ve selected before Jazz. Acuna or Soto come to mind. Both are established stars something Jazz is not. Both of whom have huge national and international followings not just a local following like Jazz. But to me it’s about the game itself not the cover.
