Baseball scoring question
-
I had a strange BR game. My opponent would never throw the ball after the outfielder grabbed it. He would just stand there until the CPU threw it back to the infield when the play ended. He knew how to throw the ball because on grounders in the infield he threw me out every time. At first I thought he was trying to bait me into going for an extra base, but on the third one I decided to just go for it and keep running. He never threw the ball and I came around to score. Sciambi called it an inside the park home run. But when I checked the BR missions after, I was not credited with a home run. I checked the game log and it showed as "Justice doubles; Justice scores" with no extra scoring. My opponent was not given an error because the box score showed he had zero errors.
So my question is how would this have been scored? I am thinking Fielder's Choice but don't really know. I also assume the pitcher was given an earned run on that since there was no error. I wonder how that virtual conversation went in the virtual locker room after the virtual game. -
It’s the same when someone steals a base up 15-0 when the catcher doesn’t even attempt to throw the runner out:
Fielder indifference.

Irl baseball I believe it would a hit and a 3 base error.

That is what I thought was more likely as well.
I was surprised to see no errors in the box score.
But defensive indifference also makes sense to me on one level.
Seems to me a pitcher is getting big time screwed if they call that an earned run though. -
