I was at 116 innings going into my last game, and we played 9. I was the visitor and lost. I was expecting to be at 125 innings after the game, but I'm at 123 instead.
Is there some special math RS uses, or is this a bug?
If you don't pitch a FULL inning with the same pitcher; you don't get credit for that pitcher. So you either switched out a pitcher before you got the third out or you pinch hit for your pitcher
Another question.
You can’t pinch hit for the pitcher if you want the inning to count? What if the pitcher gets on base? Can you pinch run and have the inning count?
Not sure. Doubt it.

This is so dumb though, why, just why does SDS feel the need to do this.

I'm pretty sure the inning counts if you pinch hit/pinch run for your pitcher. I pinch hit all the time, and still get a full 8 or 9 innings so long as the one pitcher records all 3 outs in a frame.

Cool. Thanks. I will test this today to see what happens.
Darn math bug. I agree with @CookieMonster64_NSW that it shouldn't matter how many pitchers pitch in an inning, the whole thing should count as long as you get the third out.

Once I learned this, I will leave a pitcher in even if he's getting shelled. I want my full inning. I'm never making WS, so I really don't care. I'm sure my opponents are thinking... WTH...

That will be my tactic from now on too. The only time I break into the 500's is if someone (or two) quits on me.

Pretty amazing this couldn’t be fixed this for the entire year.

Sooooooooooooooo. I dropped two innings again. Each of my pitchers pitched a full inning. I did pinch hit for each pitcher. Sigh.

So, tonight I pinch hit for my pitcher in the bottom of the 8th and got credit for all 9 innings. I don’t know the secret.

So this sounds like a system glitch. The situation that everyone is talking about is for PXP progression only. I’ve done the exact same thing the OP has done in the past with subbing out pitchers and pinch hitting and been correctly credited with the innings.
-
So far today, I've only been shorted innings when I was the losing visitor. I did pinch hit for a couple of pitchers, but they threw complete innings.
