Why not just release all cards into packs, outside of set rewards?

Why not just release all cards into packs at this point? I need three more sets to get Mantle, one being the Tashaki that aren't available in any mode outside of online seasons. The big cards are all 400k and up.

Shame on me for not knowing they would leave the game and only go up in price.

Same for All-Starts and Prime. It's ridiculous that these sub 90 rating cards are going for 250k and up. I've been flipping like crazy, which is why I'm only 3 sets away, but this is dumb.

Meanwhile I have all cards and six million in stubs. Cannot be bothered to open the over three hundred reward packs left from completing forever program.

    I hear you.
Some of the prices are laughable in January.
I'm 2 vouchers from Rollins, but at least 2 cards from the sets I need are 600-700K combined. I dont know how they could implement severe price slashes, but it should be done.
That said, I'm sure expensive cards from as far back as '19 & '20 are still outrageously priced.
I'd never tell a person to give up, but just try to move on at this point and play other games, don't stress it.

Want to help a brother out with some stubs or cards? 👼

It has always been this way. It's incredibly easy and cheap to build a competitive team in MLB The Show, unlike let's say Madden where you'll definitely need your credit card. For the good players or grinders of the market, they need some exclusive stuff to keep them engaged. Hence the collection reward players.
Let it be a lesson for next year if you intend to play; never sell your legends/flashbacks.

Most definitely. After this season, I definitely have a plan for next season to save player cards from sets, how to built my team up early, and never buy packs. It's been a great learning experience and I look forward to next season.

If you play if correctly you can get to the Program rewards fast and sell them for as much as possible. Then towards the end of the program you can buy them back much cheaper. That's what I did. Also, if you can take the gamble, buy multiple early Event reward cards. I got 10 each of AS Ryan and 2nd Half Soriano shortly after they were first released for 20K each. Sold them when they hit 200K+

You think it’s tough to find an online match now? Try finding one after SDS removes any incentive whatsoever to play online.

If it makes you feel better you can use any 2022 cards in the 2023 test version, beta, alpha, or whatever they call it this year.

I'm wondering if it's just die-hards right now.

I'm not saying that I'm the greatest player to live; but I'm having trouble striking people out in the BR Program. I've drafted an AS pitcher every single draft, have pitched at least 2 games per run, have had about 5-7 entries, and I have yet to get a strikeout. I've hit the repeatable one 5 times.

Throw [censored]. All the time. Every time.

Eventually, you’ll play someone that’s so swing-happy, they’ll keep swinging regardless.
