Xbox Stealing Questions

X Box Controller --
1 -- Man on 1st, man on 3rd. If I only want to steal 2nd, do I hit LT and then Y, or B? Or both at the same time? Or in reverse order?
2 -- Once I do number 1 up above, will the catcher (CPU) usually throw to 2nd? If he does, can I than take off from third by pressing LT and than either X or A? If this is an option, does it ever work?

That's the technical.
I have a PS5, and I find that doing it the technical way will get me thrown out a lot, so against the CPU (not in games vs. another player), I will hold down the right trigger (R2). This brings up the batting player's card, but it also freezes the pitcher. Then, I press the left stick toward 1st base (to the right) to indicate that is the runner I want to steal. Then, I tap L1, the button right above the trigger to take an extra step. After the runner gets in his crouched position, I release R2 (the trigger). This activates the pitcher who will deliver his pitch and the runner will take off running.
You'll have to translate that into your XBox controller buttons, but I have found that helps me get an almost 100% steal rate.
