Franchise repeatable?

I have been considering trying the franchise for a while, and my question is how many seasons is it, and if it does have a set end year can you do a new franchise?
I am playing 20 and 21. I did not get 22.

You can see your contract length when you look at your GM goals screen just an FYI, this screen also has your job security and all the mini achievements. From what I’ve gathered, if you achieve contract goals or come close in the first or second year of your contract, your job security becomes good-very good. Same if you start ticking off some of those achievements team wise like hits in a game, runs, etc… I do know once you come to the end of your 3 year contract you usually have 3 teams to choose from, including your old team, who sit in different positions franchise wise. One will be an already good team with a goal to win the World Series and another will be to just get to the playoffs.
If you turn off GM goals you can stay with one team indefinitely.

I apologize. I think I worded that poorly. I have not done this since RBI baseball and on the older madden games. Those were set up so you basically picked a franchise and after 20 years you were done. You could then do the whole thing over with a different team, or the same one but perhaps try different things.
Once I complete my GM career am I able to start a new franchise?

I'm pretty sure that MLB the show franchise has an unlimited amount of seasons. I think you can play forever if you'd like. As far as changing teams you would have to leave GM mode on when setting up your franchise. That allows you to change teams after the contract is finished.
