Playoff Format

To be fair, the new CBA was not agreed to until three weeks until launch. They did not know exactly what was going to happen. I didn't even know. Would it be 12 teams? 14? What about this "ghost win" concept. While we all knew there were going to be some changes, it's not like the universal DH where there's only one way it could happen (NL gets DH like AL. All done). While it would have been nice to give us more power to control how many teams in the playoffs for franchise and postseason modes, I understand why the new format is not in the game.

I WILL be expecting it next year, however...

They could have provided a playoff setting format in franchise (etc) play to allow the user to select the type of playoff format they wanted to choose.
I.E. 4,6,8,12, etc. This option would allow for year over year rule changes for those on any of the platform release years.

I hope the new playoff format comes in a sooner than later update.

Sort of unrelated but I thought having no DH in DD wouldn't make a difference but now w/ real baseball going on, it feels like I'm missing out on the latest and greatest from a videogame.

I do hope they find a way to add the 12 seed this year but it sounds like they it would take months of dev and testing.

They also didn't update the scheduling matrix. Starting in the 2023 season, every team plays every other team...no so in the game. It still has the division specific interleague schedule. Things 2023 hopefully get fixed.

It sorta looks like there isn’t going to be an update.

I’ve been playing DD since I bought the game, but just started a franchise. Boy, does this mode need work. It has even less features than before, not to mention the growing dissimilarities between MLB play and what goes in the video game.

Very disappointing.

Personally the overexpanded postseason is a joke. Playing a 162 game season to eliminate just under half the teams? But I know my choice is not the same as everyone, why not let EA Sports, I mean SDS let you choose your playoff format, 4 teams, up to whatever the maximum is for the real world.
