Halladay 99

Lack of milestone cards are keeping his value high, if we had as many milestones as future stars he would be about 100k tops. I love Doc but nothing about that card should play well online outside of the H/9. Surprised a RS reward with no outlier is that highly valued tbh.

What is the obsession with the outlier quirk? It’s good against people who cannot time it up; however, those same people wouldn’t be able to time up a fastball a couple mph slower. Also, with so many pitchers having outlier, it is seen so much more than the last couple games. Chapman used to have an outlier on both his 4SFB and Sinker, but players realized that it would be a better card if the sinker didn’t have outlier. Speed differentials and repertoire are much more important to a pitcher.

I agree but the Outlier perk is kind of like a pitcher's equalizer against those 125/125 batters. Juiced vs juiced.

Actually, that’s what H/9 and K/9 do. A pitcher with 125/125 in those attributes actually does equalize those batters. A pitcher with low H/9 and Outlier is not going to be very effective against those hitters. Outlier just gives you a few mph on a fastball, but the attributes actually shrink their pci down.

I hate outlier, I think it’s ruined this series, but since it’s meta it usually increases the value of pitchers with it.

I understand your point one hundred percent. However, a card such as Halladay is still a great card, one of the best I would guess, I don’t have the 99 Halladay yet. So I am just trying to say that a card is still extremely usable even though it doesn’t have outlier. I actually don’t look at a pitcher’s quirks, unless it’s someone like Chapman. Pedro really surprised me. Of course I heard about it before I even got the card, but I never would have looked to see if he had outlier since he didn’t throw triple digits.
Edit: Also, earlier you said that you were surprised that the Halladay card was wanted, and it was only because the lack of Milestone cards. Roy Halladay has been asked for by the community for a while now. His card was great when the early version came out. So, I have to disagree with that statement.

I’m not surprised he’s wanted, I am surprised at the price and immediate demand for a card that doesn’t have outlier.

Again, people who have been around the game understand that outlier doesn’t have anything to do with how good the card is. I want that card, I just don’t have the stubs, if I did I would buy him now. I also don’t have the time to earn him. He is one of the best pitchers in the whole game. Plus, he is a new legend that has been asked for. You are too hung up on outlier. If the card had outlier,
would you understand the demand? Their is no added value to a pitcher with outlier unless you are someone that relies on it. -

Will this card ever drop below 1M stubs? Have the cash but never know if want to buy other oriole at the end
Hey, didn’t mean to steal your post. As for the price, I would guess with Finest coming out and with still many big name pitchers still to be released it should come down. It is just hard to tell how much. I guess we will see after the orders for the big prices get filled. This year’s game is different than the previous bunch, so nobody can really tell what will happen.

Their is no added value to a pitcher with outlier unless you are someone that relies on it.The market would say different, when some of the highest priced pitchers all have outlier I would say it adds value to a card. The only high priced pitchers without it are recently released RS and BR rewards and their price could be based on dwindling player base and their H/9. I was responding to a post about whether he would remain at a million, something like outlier should be factored in to the cards price as its clear it factors in to a lot of pitching cards prices.
