What would you guys do in my situation?

We're in a tight spot. I haven't done Brett or McCutchen and with this new collection coming out I may be too far behind.
I personally think cards are going to skyrocket with this new collection. They always seem to. I don't even want to use Brett or McCutchen but I know if I want that top Giffey, Mantle, Mays or Aaron I'll probably need them.
Do you keep trudging on or sell everything off if the prices rise? I need 20 AS cards, 18 2nd Half, 34 Future Star, 22 FoF and 22 2022 AS. I have Rolkie, Veteran, Cover and Sig completed and need single digit cards on the rest.
I'm in a big hole. What would you do?

I’m in the same boat. I have AS done, but need similar amount of cards as you. Not sure what the right answer is, but I’ve decided to keep going for it, but not stress about it. I’m not really that excited to use Brett or McCutchen. Just trying to get them done for something to do lol
My advice is don’t sell off- what would you buy with the stubs? The new program will most likely help with the henchman etc. giving us cards that will help with collections
-
All depends on who the collection reward is. Last year when Kershaw was released the reception was not overly positive and the market dipped as people sold off the cards they were hoarding.
All depends on that. If they drop a deGrom with maxed out stats you can bet the market will jump like crazy, but not so much if it ends up being a 99 Fergie Jenkins. No disrespect meant just the way it is unfortunately.

There will be another bigger collection after this one IMO. You are 106 cards away just on the AS/2nd Half/FS/ FOF/2022 AS's. You will likely either need Finest or the new Legends of the Franchise to complete the new program. You are likely 2M-3M cards away. I think you are to far away without some serios stubs or grinding, BUT if you want this collection card and not the next you should be fine if you work on it over the next month. Depends on how bad you want it, but you need a lot of help. Do you have the LS series collection done? Also, do you have any really valuable cards?

I'd wait to see what SDS puts in the reward path for packs in the new program. In the past, they loaded up prior FoTF and Future Stars, and brought those prices down to quicksell values. Plus, in the final program last year, they brought out all the Boss packs again, which brought prices way down. Don't despair....

LS is done. Chipper is my most expensive card. I have the first 21 Event rewards to sell if I wanted plus everybody not locked. A couple million probably. What is the max stubs you can have this year. Last I saw McCutchen was like 7 million to unlock

Max you can have is 5 million. Chip away at it best you can. Don't waste stubs on packs and just put in buy orders for players you need. Try to get as many free packs as possible. Finish mini-seasons or at least repeat missions and finish programs and hope for good pulls. Even silvers and golds add up when you sell every duplicate you get.

It definitely makes it a lot harder if you don't keep up with the promos. Those AS could be had for close to quicksell now some of them are 40 or 50k. I've noticed the same for some of the henchmen of past programs also being insanely priced. I say just load up with players you like that can be bought. This next promo should deliver some pretty nice stats and hopefully the free Clemente today is nice. Unless you really like collecting the cards. Doing collections is my favorite part of the game, so I try to get every card. Its not that difficult even without spending real money, but you have to start early and play every promo. I will say Brett and Cutch are amazing. Good chance McCutchen never leaves my lineup even with a new Griffey, Trout or Mantle being released, that is how good he is.
-
I’m in the same boat as you. I have 14/16 sets completed for Brett but gave up on it when I saw Clutch was the series master I stopped cause I wasn’t that interested in getting him and also I didn’t finish Brett cause I had got Austin Riley at 3B.

If prices rise then it's probably smart just to sell everybody and rebuy when they drop. Otherwise the cards are just sitting there.
If the market crashes then it might be time to play catch up.
Do you advise doing Mauer and Jackie collections? I figured if I'm going to spend the stubs I might as well do them because it might save me from having to do a couple collections in the future.

Jackie collection for sure. Jackie is great at 2nd base and at the worst becomes an endgame bench bat/utility/pinch runner guy. Make sure you spend a bit extra and add Soto and JRod to add your team. Soto is still one of the top hitters in the game and JRod with the speed/power combo is amazing as long as you aren't on legend. I feel like Mauer is still really good but at this point in the game we should be seeing an upgraded Mauer soon.

I would sell off any duplicates of the Future stars once the prices start rising as they should start to form the program as they have been in the chase pack. I think I am in a good position as I have most of the main collections done or have a good amount of them. I was focused on buying stuff to finish the Live series so I didn't go and get all the cheaper event and BR cards early in the year. According to show zone for cutch I need 4 2nd half heroes, 4 AS, and 2 takashi cards.
I will say Brett has been my best card on my team.

Flip cards on your phone when watching football or baseball games. You'll be amazed at how much you can make. Just think of all the down time during a game. Or if you have slow time at work. Obviously if you're a teacher or nurse or something like that,, I don't reccomemd this but if you have a boring office job like mine, flip flip flip.
