Thoughts on LS collections?

I don't have the bank to get an entire league but I could do a division or two. I really want Alomar but that price is steep for a guy who will probably have a better card later in the year. Is LS Judge usable online die to his vision? I've heard great things about Giambi, but power 1st baseman are a dime a dozen around here.
I'm just afraid there will be way less content this year so saving stubs won't matter like it used to. The good thing about last year was you always had stubs on hand and it looks the same this year.
Would you blow 400k on LS cards right now or wait to see what SDS holds in store? I've been using the same players since Day 1, so I'm getting antsy for a change.
