Extreme Cole/3 HR Moment -- WHAT???
-
I do not understand what is going here, I hit a homer with Joey Votto and it counted it as an out. I would hit back to back homers then hit a double and I am having to re-start the moment. I do not understand if it is something new with the update or what.
-
It does say in the last sentence of the description "...re-create this feat by tallying a trio of home runs in three plate appearances." It then also says "LENGTH: 3 PLATE APPEARANCES" right above the "Progress:" which is above where it says "Hit 3 Home Runs" and "Don't Make 1 Out"
Three plate appearances means it has to be done within those first three batters!

Then why are people in other posts and forums I read saying they're able to do it as long as they don't make an out? They'll provide a list of their full line-up, and tell accounts of HR, single, single, HR, HR?

Probably SDS realized they forgot to put the restriction of three ABs into the coding of the Moment and had changed it when they realized people were accomplishing the Moment not as expected!

Yes. I saw a YT vid where a guy got a bloop single to keep his run going. They did change it. Just use the 3 players I used and run the table.

https://youtu.be/QdIKBAUHk4cOr... I used HRD Juan Soto, Prime David Ortiz, and Retro Finest George Brett (it didn't take long).

Must be a bug affer the update. When I did it, I hit 3 homeruns in 4 at bats. Back to back hombs, got HBP and then another homerun

I think they must have changed it after the update. FWIW, I FINALLY managed to complete it by hitting 3 HRs in 3 ABs, after coming maddeningly close over and over. Finally went Brett, Alvarez, Ortiz. I also finally won the Hall of Fame game, so I've completed all the Extreme Moments and the Conquest Map -- two things I really never saw myself capable of doing. But I think it's made me a better player. I mean, I was able to hit HRs off Nolan Ryan on Hall of Fame Level! What?! I NEVER thought I could do that. The one thing I can't see myself doing is the Extreme Showdown. It sounds impossible by most accounts. As it stands, as soon as I get Wood to his final level and finish the 25,000 XP points I'm working on, I'll have gotten Cano and be at 91 points (and get 30,000 pts for the current program). Then, I think, unless someone convinces me otherwise, I'll skip the Showdown and just gradually grind out the 25,000 XP 3 more times to get to 100 pts. and eventually get Donaldson.

The 25k pxp goes quicker than you think so its a stress free way to go about it, as well as completing other missions for the new programs.

I've about given up on the extreme moments almost. I lose to chapman or Hensley every time....cruise through the others. they need to adjust some of the out totals or put a man on base in those......I know its doable, but super frustrating. it would be nice to put a mulligan or save point as well. (yes I know its supposed to be hard but geez)
speaking of, is there anyway to practice vs that chapman in practice mode?

My buddy did it with 3 non consecutive HRs but did not make an out

Okay, my understanding of the 3 HRs off Gerritt Cole moment in the Extreme Program -- based on the description of the moment and accounts of others -- was that you had to hit 3 HRs without making an out. That also seems to be implied by the checkboxes - 3 HRs or 1 Out.
But in playing the event it seems that you have to hit 3 HRs in 3 ABs, period. I hit a HR in my first AB, then Cole hit my 2nd and 3rd hitters, and the moment ended with the "1 Out" Box checked off. Then the next time, I hit a single, a HR, and another single, and the moment ended with the same result.
What's the story here? Is it really 3 HRs in the FIRST 3 ABs? If so, when Cole gives you nothing good to hit or hits the batters, what are you possibly supposed to do? This is insane.
And FWIW, I've finished ALL the other moments except the Hall of Fame game, where I came within 1 out of finishing it and have to go back. So it's not like I don't accept that these moments are hard and "extreme." But I also thought they'd be just a little bit fair.
Any help or advice here? Thanks!
The only thing you can do... "Restart"
