Trade Logic is Comically Broken
-
I play franchise mode every year the game comes out but the absolutely abysmal trade logic has made it incredibly difficult to want to play this year. This past trade deadline alone saw some of the dumbest trades I’ve ever seen:
-
Yankees trade SP Deivi Garcia and OF Jasson Dominguez for (either) OF Cedric Mullins or 3B Bobby Witt (depending on which teams are involved)
-
Marcus Semien gets traded back to Toronto for Alek Manoah straight up
-
Corey Seager traded to the Phillies for 2 C-potential created prospects
-
Sal Perez (B potential) traded to the Mets for Brett Baty (A potential) and Ronny Mauricio (A potential)
-
Cardinals trade SP Jack Flaherty to Cubs for OF Pete Crow-Armstrong straight up
-
Orioles trade ADLEY RUTSCHMAN to Phillies for SS Bryson Scott and SP Mick Abel
Those are just a few examples of some of the stupid trades that pop up at the trade deadline.
Then you have Free Agents like Frankie Montas and Luis Castillo on clearly rebuilding teams like the A’s, Reds, etc. who NEVER get traded even though those are the prime guys who would get traded at the deadline. It’s so stupid and unrealistic and takes the fun out of trying to play a realistic franchise mode. Franchise as the community has been saying for YEARS needs a complete overhaul and some sort of improvement in trade logic and how legit contending teams vs. rebuilding teams act around the trade deadline needs to be a major focus. -

I saw a video with one of the developers talking about franchise, and he said they know franchise needs a lot of work, but the code that franchise is based on is so old that they can't effectively update it anymore. They basically would have to scrap the whole thing and start over to make it any better.
You can just take it for whatever that's worth

my franchise is slightly different i dont see much outlandish trades,

What would be nice to see is to add a ranking system for players that are most valuable to each franchise. they could at the very least add an untouchable list to the trading block. I count how many times I was asked to trade away potential superstars for nothing.
