But I think there are more Future Stars than Live Series at this point. Maybe I counted wrong...
If all of these guys are “Stars” in the “Future” MLB is going to a a lot of fun to watch…especially if they have these attributes.

Well future stars are actually treated different in real life topps release, they typically are second year cards of a player. That's why Jazz, Hayes etc all have it.

I'm really curious why future stars are featured so heavily. I know there is more to this community than the forum but everywhere I go for info on the show: Twitter, Reddit, the forum...the sentiment is the same. Most people don't like them and the ones who do really only want the bigger names.
Personally I like a handful but that program with 30 was overkill. I've never used half of them. So why are they pushed so hard?

Probably for one very simple reason, cost. They own the rights to Minor league names, they don't have to negotiate with them one at a time. Whether they put a Jordan Walker in the game or not, it will cost them the same amount of money so might as well put them in.
Bigger names costs more $, sure they already have the rights to guys like Babe Ruth, Chipper Jones etc that they could release, but why not wait a bit to draw people back later?
Future stars make it easy to carry less legends, which means more $

I understand why they did 30. Many baseball fans know the top prospects of their favorite teams. Not all may care about others, so every team got one. I think they are cool as cards to use and to even learn about other young stars coming up in other teams’ clubs. (I know, we already have prospect cards).
I don’t hate them; however, when I still haven’t seen a 99 of many proven players who have played, or are currently playing in the MLB at a high level, I don’t necessarily get overjoyed about a release of 99 overall FS. On the other hand, I do want to get Anthony Volpe; however I am a fan of the Yankees. Yes, I would have rather had someone like Honus get a 99. I know he likely will, but I don’t think it is too early. We are all going to use Finest cards on our teams at the game’s end.
I guess if you don’t like them, don’t use them. I’m still upset that the newest headliner FS has better hitting attributes then the latest release of what they call a 99 Griffey Jr., maybe Cardinals fans are excited about it. -

But this is just a sleight of hand Griffey. Just wait, Part 2 of the program will be announced and all will be well when we get Retro Finest Griffey. It's like the force, I can feel it.
Also, I was wondering if the plethora of FS cards was cost related and that makes a lot of sense. I don't hate them, but many are forgettable. I just put together a Reds/Cubs team and was reminded of Austin Hendricks. Just another FS I collected and never used.
To each their own.

As for the Griffey, I do hope we do get a Finest version, and that it is possible for me to obtain. I’m not 100 percent sold on another Griffey Jr. will be part of a program just because it says 24 percent done. That could be another prank or even just an error. But I don’t need to take up space on the forum about something that has took up enough.

No way a FS of someone who hasn't even reached the MLB yet (Volpe) is better that every other SS in the game.

Don't be surprised if you end up loving that Hendrick card! Dude has a great swing!
Regarding FS I always say the same thing. I enjoy them but I totally understand why people might not like them or be bored of them. The reason I like them is because then when I hear about one of these players getting called up I'm like 'hey I know that name' and it makes me more interested in seeing how they turn out. -

I agree that Volpe shouldn’t be the best SS in the game. I hope it doesn’t stay that way for too long. I don’t think they should be golds, but not 99s. I understand the hype of what could be, but it shouldn’t over shadow the proven. I really noticed more come out because of people complaining on the boards one year about Wander Franco and Adley Rutschman not getting Future Star cards. Aside from the Casey Mize card that year, I don’t really remember seeing FS cards on too many people’s teams. But once two switch hitters with juiced out attributes did make it in, I saw at least one of them in about every other roster. To be truthful, I used Franco for a while. Honus took his spot though. I like these new Finest cards of Legends and Flashbacks, it will give them a reason to give players better attributes than they ever had, like the McCutchen card. I liked that lightning Tatis card, but he blew any chance of that.

I do like them, but at my count SDS is up to 197. Maybe I made a rounding error.
-
I get I am quite possibly the minority, but I think 30 prospect cards (one for each team) with 85-95 ratings and about 10 Future Stars that are already making an impact (Adley, Wander, Cruz, etc.) with ratings between 95-99 would be perfect for me. Lots of things have caused me to lose interest this year and the never ending drip of FS is one of them. Might not be as boring to me if there were not so many current and former players that still don’t have good cards and I’m not talking about 99s…I’m talking low to mid 90s.
-
I like future stars cards, but I'm also a fan of a team that hasn't been good since 2014 and has no plans on being good anytime soon. So for me, the future is more exciting than getting the same old cards we do every year. I don't think any one player should get a future stars card in more than one version of this game(Gorman, Campusano, Bart, Austin Martin) but in general I'm fine with them. I don't really care that they are "disrespecting" the legends because the only FS cards anyone uses anyway are O'Neil Cruz and Pitchers

I can see that point. But even if they're 84s, with PXP, they can get up to 89s.
Still not 'end game' some might say? But if I'm not mistaken; the ratings on these are 3yr projections of what SDS thinks they'll end up rated. Umm, didnt they have a FS Victor Robels 3 or more years ago and he's what now?
Not all these will be spot on 3 years down the road. But still to be 99s?
Maybe 85s? And release them earlier in the year.
