99 Takahashi Mussina?
-
I thought Signature Series/Prime were the best versions of the player? 96 Mussina???
Just curious
-
That was already gone with Retro finest surpassing those
-
I’ll say it again, it would be nice to know if a player gets a certain card that it’s the best one we’ll see. Helps for planning purposes on buying cards.
-
Last year they broke that rule a few times too. Kenny Lofton was a Milestone boss early on at 93 and then got a 99 award card. Bryce had a 99 award card and then got a 99 Finest and I'm sure there were a few other instances.
I get that it would be nice to know, but I'm glad there is a better Mussina available now.

You didn’t think they would give Mussina a 99 overall card? He is a new legend; aside from that, it’s a good thing. The SS was linked to a collection, so you didn’t lose anything.

Well if they didn’t have something better than a 96 sig how would SDS recycle the same guys all year?
-
I am kinda glad they didn't stick to that rule actually cause now there is a bit more freedom in what comes out. I'm sure there will still be alot of debate especially for some like Howard if his prime card is the best he gets.
Overall it's nice to see 99s spread out over a larger range of series of cards as that does help with line up diversity

The fact that they dropped a 99 Mussina is amazingly crazy. He had a good career but cmon lol. At least they gave him an Orioles card were he was at least when he finished 4th 5th or 6th in Cy young multiple times.

Bingo. A little communication on this would be very much appreciated. One of the definitions of prime naturally leads one to believe it would be the best card for that person but that is clearly not the case.

This is my thinking, but these studios have one purpose and that is extracting as much $ out of you as possible

Right?!?! It’s almost like they’re a “business” and can only “succeed” by making “money” in order to continue to produce their “product”.
But really, it is entirely possible to get this card even playing entirely offline without extra cost….play through the program, sell the other rewards, then buy him from the market. I don’t play other sports games but I think their model actually doesn’t force the micro-transactions.
-
I’m still waiting for that Takahashi Gwynn card. Buy only if they give him at least mid 70s to 80s power. I know they won’t give him more than that.
-
Gives me hope that finally give us a 99 Glavine.

Yeah agreed. I have no stats to back this up, but I feel like Glavine had a better career than Mussina.
I could be wrong though.
PS - Yes, I'm aware most cards are more often based on seasons and not full careers. But I also feel like Glavine's best seasons were better. But again, I could be proven wrong.

It would help me plan even more if I knew every collection reward they plan on releasing, right? I don’t understand why it matters if they are going to put out a better card later in the game? Almost all the cards released early on will have a better card later in the game, even if it’s not the same player. Don’t you use the cards until the better version comes out?
Seriously, for example, most of the 2022 All Star cards will be replaced with a Finest or other card by game’s end. I don’t mean to come off as confrontational or anything, I just wanted to put it in a context of why you they don’t tell us. Isn’t it a good thing they put out better cards? -
