Vin Scully R.I.P

I grew up listening to him. I would take a transistor radio to Dodger games so I could listen to him while watching the game. One night, a buddy and I waited an hour after a game near the broadcaster booth so I could get his signature on a baseball. He was very gracious when he signed it. I still have and treasure that baseball.

I also listened to him calling Dodger games as I grew up in the Inland Empire! He had a great voice for calling the games and the way he called each game was absolutely awesome.

L.A. fans love Vin Scully. We all listened to him growing up calling the games. He always respected other teams and players and found out interesting facts about the players and told us about them. You always heard a new interesting story during the game. My favorite call is Gibsons home run. And I will miss "It's time for Dodger baseball". RIP Vin.

Woke up feeling sadder about Vin. He called my last Mets WS with some memorable calls.
'Can you believe this game at Shea?' he said during Game 6, and of course 'Here comes Knight, and the Mets win it!!!'
He was special. -
No matter who you rooted for, listening to Vin was a blessing, a privilege and an indescribable joy. In the third episode of his new "Countdown" podcast today, I think the reason he was loved so much was the fact that he talked so eloquently. The words he used were more than just words. They were flowers in bloom.
Keith Olbermann gave a beautiful tribute to Vin not without some anecdotes and his voice breaking. RIP, Vin. And thank you. I can't say that enough.
