One knew Montas would not pitch well and tweeted it last night. I thought he'd do ok, but the Yanks can't play .700 ball for 162. Their staff ain't that good. -

Now he is ignoring my texts, he basically can dish it but not take it

I'm glad that he seems to be doing better since being called back up but I am not sure he gets a Topps Now out of it. If that 3 run homer had happened in the bottom of the 9th instead of the 8th then maybe.

Man, that has been big. Monty came through big against the former team. Brewers lost 2 more. This weekend went about as well as you could want as a Cards fan.

The Brewers also have only won 1 game since trading Hader, that may go down as their worst trade.

I am happy the Mets are doing well too. I am glad they finally have an owner willing to spend money. If the Yankees don’t win, I wouldn’t mind seeing the Mets bring a championship home.

So true. But too bad the Padres can't really use him because they can't win a game. I'll never understand that franchise.
But to your point, it was a really stupid trade for the Brewers. And as a Cards and Pads fan, I love it.

I’m glad Montgomery pitched well for you guys the other day. You got another decent pitcher. Dejong was crazy this series. No coma for this Yankees fan. I wasn’t playing in it.

Yes, that trade was an absolute gut punch for the Brewers. They are empty right now. They're management is on the firing line so to speak. Every owner/front office in baseball has the cash and resources to make big moves, dont believe some of them are 'poor'...they just run the teams like a business, so that will trump winning in a lot of their minds.

Yankees showing their true commitment to not scoring runs when Monty pitches even if he is no longer on the team.
What a brutal series. Cant hit one game, can't pitch the next. Bullpen blows the first one.

Yanks bullpen looks tired. Interesting to see the new acquisitions, Montas, Efross, Benintendi haven't shown up yet. Montas only lasted a few innings. To the Cards credit, they look primed to take the Central. Reminiscent to last year, a strong 2nd half like the Braves had, maybe the Cards can do the same. Definitely looked like a Playoff preview, all 3 games were good. Every hit that judge has looks dialed-in, hope he doesn't end up with a strained oblique.

To the Yankees credit, although it did not benefit them, a lot of fans wanted to see them.

Not only the highest attendance of the season, but it's the largest attendance all-time in this ballpark. That apparently includes the All-Star Game, playoffs, all of it.That was for the Saturday night game I believe.
