I realize it shouldn’t bother me as much as does but it’s so frustrating!

Absolutely love this game, as tough as it is to hit and pitch, I love it. It’s ridiculous how many people continue to use R2 to gain an advantage.

I’m an average player at best, so I’m not under the impression I’m good at this game. I enjoy the competition and I love the Diamond Dynasty play.

I’m pretty competitive until I reach 650 and higher. It’s clear that I’m the underdog at this point. Even so, 80% of the games I play these children hit R2 every single pitch. It’s pathetic and frustrating!

I’m all for gaining an advantage but every pitch a majority of these people use the R2 button! Not to see pitch location or slow the quick pitching down. I don’t rapid pitch, but I don’t have a problem with players who do. But timing the R2 button to gain a unfair advantage is so tired!

Is there a way to disable it? If so, please let me know.

I know people [censored] and moan on here when they are losing. It’s not that at all, I hate losing but it’s part of the game. It shouldn’t be part of the game, I wish it was taken out.

Thanks for allowing me to vent, good luck everyone!

The R2 stuff doesn't bother me nearly as much as the guy I played yesterday. I would say I am easily among the worst hitters online but managed to get matched up with someone of about equal ability. From the first inning when I proved I would not chase his low outside slider he immediately would pause for about 3/4 of the timer if anyone got on base, and after his first two hitters would strike out, he would pause for about 30 seconds if he had enough time left. I finally broke through and slapped a 2 run blast and he instantly quit. I don't mind that he quit, but it wasn't like I was bashing him all over the yard as the score was only 3-0 in the 4th.

Freezing a player to try and cool him off is far more uncool than R2 spamming. The R2 could actually be eliminated by simply having the pitch options displayed before every pitch and allowing R2 once the ball is in play.

The pause timer should be reduced. As far as R2, it doesn't bother me that much.

I’d say I’m pretty good at the game (around 150 games over .500 or something similar). I play 90% Online Ranked and whenever I run across a R2 spammer I’ve found my best counter strategy is to just slow my game down. If they are holding R2 every pitch they will eventually try and hit it right after you select your pitch but right before you start to throw it so what I do is I just wait it out, let them hit the R2 early then select your pitch and take your time to hit your location. It slows the game way down which sucks especially if you wanna play a few games in a row but they’ll eventually give up on the R2 spam once they realize you’re waiting for them.

The only issues I’ve run across with my strategy is some pitchers have a “wind up” motion that only happens after you select the pitch so basically if they figure that out you’re screwed. I have a feeling R2 will not be in MLBTS 23 though.

Move game to snail pace while pitching and hit R3 with every batter and R2 yourself for every pitch. They’ll stop

Can someone explain to me what the benefit of R2 is, or what it is?

If you hold down the R2 button before the pitcher makes his choice you can see what pitches he throws, what their approximate speed and how comfortable the pitcher is with that pitch in that count. I could easily overlook a guy holding it down for before the first pitch but doing before every at bat is just annoying. I can deal with that far easier than someone freezing the game to try and slow down a hot hitting opponent.

In addition to having, it displayed before the pitch automatically they could assist players who just want to know what they are facing before the game by displaying it along with the lineup during the loading screen.

If you slow down between pitches you won’t have this problem.
