Mini seasons harder?
-
I realize I'm opening myself for ridicule here so feel free to say "get good" or I'm wearing a tinfoil hat or whatever else you like.
I'm genuinely curious if they made Mini Seasons more challenging. I legit just got shut out three times in a row on rookie. The first 4 times I played full seasons, I never lost a game (unless I quit out to save time), and no that's not bragging because I had it on rookie.
Well, I'm obviously in a massive hitting slump. So I played conquest and in the 4 games on the mystery map I scored 46 runs and gave up 1.
I've noticed that 4 teams are now juiced instead of the 2 but even that didn't matter in the past.....because it was on ROOKIE.
So, am I wearing a tinfoil hat? Am I really so awful at this game (I admit I'm not good) or is anyone else noticing this?

Have not tried it yet, but I will let you know when I do

If they made it harder, it's because they know many have God squads by now, so they had to counter that.

I'm sure it's just that I'm in a slump and that the pitchers are mostly 95 and above now. I just need to get better at hitting.
I have completed Mini seasons like 6 or 7 times at least and have had my slumps but I always still win. Now it seems like all the pitchers are dotting, the AI defense is heroic as always and I can't scrape much offense together.
Thankfully I ended my night with a 4-0 win against the Whales. I'll expect my ticker tape parade soon.

I mean Mini Seasons will be become more and more harder compared to conquest as you are just facing live series cards whom barely changed. Even some the worst teams in Mini Seasons beats most live teams. I struggle a little bit on all star trying to get as many goals as possible at once. I only use cards that I haven't paralleled 1 yet in CPU games other than goal cards to complete missions so it has been a struggle for me also.

I just finished on AS and yes, it definately seems more challenging to me. They take pitches like crazy and when I pitch in the zone, they usually make hard contact. While hitting, I get many perfect lineouts and their defense plays like a gold glove team every game. lol

Its a combination of better quality teams and facing lesser competition on easier difficulties in other game modes.
Try playing CQ or vs cpu on AS or HoF a couple times to get yourself back up to that level before doing seasons.
Earlier in the year when going into CQ i was only facing #1 or #2 starters just so i wouldnt lose my edge in seasons, it is more important now. -
Seems normal to me considering the teams are much better. You just have to be patient at the plate. I tend to get very swing happy in mini seasons because I’m trying to blow through games but you really have to wait for your pitch or you’ll get punished.

I feel like the sliders on pretty much every difficulty differ from game mode to game mode. Mini seasons AI seems more difficult than conquest. Felt like this all year to me. Plus honesty I feel like Rookie is harder to get good results than say Veteran or All Star. Less likely to see good pitches in the zone and more RNG when you do make contact and less consistency. If I want an easy W I'll play on Veteran and for a slightly more challenging game , but still easy W, I play on All Star. I stay away from Rookie

Either a slump, or what I always suspect, the cpu will start to pitch you smarter the more you play. No matter the difficulty. If you always crush high fastballs, you won't see one for about 3 games. There are certain parts of the zone, even deep inside the strike zone I am incapable of getting the pci to, the cpu knows this and will put strike 3 there. Also even on rookie there are times the cpu will work the corners and put the ball right on the black.
In my opinion the only advantage to playing on rookie is slow pitch speed, big pci, and you k the cpu a lot. But the only real difference on how you get pitched is that usually on 3 ball counts you are getting a strike, where on AS and up you don't know where it's going.

I know I’m not in a slump, this mini season is playing like garbage so far
Just tried to get the choice pack for getting 10 runs in a game. So I figured hey, why not play a quick game on rookie and see if I can get some pack luck
I always power swing on rookie. P5 Utley comes to the plate against a righty, fastball down the middle, I power swing and get a P/P fly ball…..for an out
Yeah that’s enough of that garbage. If there’s one thing I can’t stand in this game it’s grinding against the cpu
Especially in mini seasons where the sliders and gameplay against the cpu is just abysmal
I have Brett, almost every card in the game and closing in on 1M in stubs. Not wasting another minute on mini seasons when that mode is playing that awfully lol
I know others love the mini season grind and I totally understand why. But after a power swing, P/P fly ball goes for an out, yeah I’m staying away from that garbage mode, isn’t fun at all imo and not worth the time/rewards in my position

Yea the sliders are definitely up a little bit no matter the difficulty.
-
Man. I just can’t do the ohtani one.
Like two extra base hits. How hard can that be…..can’t do it.

I mentioned in a thread that I’m seeing more HR robberies this year. Over the fence highlight reel nabs.

I’ve been getting multiple P/P outs a night. It’s frustrating.

I don't think the game is necessarily harder. It's just that you're playing against better pitching cards now then you were 2 months ago.
