Ever wonder what determines whether or not someone gets supercharged?
-
Last night
Dansby Swanson 3 for 4 with 2 HRs, 3 Rs, and 3 RBIs. Nope
Adley Rutschman 2 for 4 with 1 HR, 1 2B, and 3 RBIs. Nope.
Now I can see Rutschman not getting it because of only two hits; even though they were a double and a homerun.
But nothing for Swanson?
I still think they just pick names out of a hat.

The only ones that seem like they are drawn out of a hat are the pitching performances. The hitting performances get supercharged for special performances. Both of those stat lines practically happen every night

So far haven't we only seen Supercharged hitters for (excluding possibly opening day)
3 HRs in a day (either single game or double header)
Cycle
20 game hit streakThere have been better performances than those you mentioned that didn't get one. Just a few nights ago Nolan Gorman went 4-4 with 2 HRs and 4 RBIs. He did not get one and I did not expect it as SDS has actually been pretty consistent in their criteria.

Think 8+ RBIs counts too (Ohtani, Naylor)
For pitchers - 13ks seems to be a mark. It might be less but last 2 pitchers had 13ks when they got boosted.
No hitters (combined or solo) seem to give boosts. This would obviously include perfect games. -
No I have never given it a second thought.

Makes sense.
