Sale's a great card overall, but in the year of the lefty this just confirms that SDS is doubling down on the meta. Gross.

Side note, seeing Edward Cabrera as Topps Now just about activated PTSD. Glad to see it's not total fiction this time. Wonder if they fixed his Sith Lord glitchy release.

Year of the lefty? You still see way more right handed pitchers

But the really good, tough ones are lefty. Randy, Dallas, Glavine, Price.

I think when you climb rankings, lefties take over. I'm not that good, so I peter out in the 700's usually.

It was like that last year for a bit too. You saw a lot of leiter, lee, glavine early on last year. Randy will be the only lefty you see here in a month or so

This is the first time I’ve ever had more reliable* lefties than righties in my bullpen. Britton, Doolittle, grove, Wagner, and Franco are all pretty good, as are PS price and Pomeranz. The only problem is that they’re all like 88-93ish. Once we start seeing a ton of 99s, it’ll be slim pickins as usual. We’ll have the eventual 99 Wagner and then a bunch of scraps until Finest.

*I play almost entirely offline so “reliable” doesn’t necessarily mean “meta” or whatever stupid word people use

To be fair the “meta” is totally different online and offline. People seem to get offended by that for whatever reason but it’s true. The CPU won’t struggle with heat on outliers like a user might, but they can’t overcome the really high K/9 H/9 some of the softer throwing old school players have. Mike Scott is always a great example. Throws like 90 and gets hit up online with less pitch repertoire but his monster K/9 H/9 destroy the CPU offline. Makes a big difference. So Drew, Price and Doolittle and are all going to be great offline for a while. Franco probably all year.

Sorry, I wasn’t clear about what I’m angry about. I wasn’t talking about the concept of having an online or offline “meta.” I just hate the word “meta.”

Meta to me always meant something like "self-referential." As in metadiscourse, the sin of writing about what you plan on writing about (I'm a teacher, sorry). Just learned recently it's a video game acronym. These kids and their neologisms.
