If they want to swing at the first pitch and get out great. Also stop throwing easy pitches to hitting on the first pitch.
If I see a fat pitch I'll swing but I generally take a few and learn the break and speed of the starter. -

Weird, cuz vs CPU it's usually an automatic out pitch. I don't swing 1rst pitch anymore regardless the mode.

I try not to, though sometimes I see something that looks just way too good to pass up. But yeah, I have learned that not swinging at the first pitch really sets you up for a later pitch when you can do real damage.
Working the count is really the way to go. It affects the pitcher's confidence if you don't swing, which generally sets up a good result for you in later pitches.

If the ball wasn't thrown down the middle on the first pitch, I wouldn't swing at it.

No matter where u throw the percentage of 1st pitch rewarded hits are off the charts I counted 16 total between both teams my last ranked game

It's hard to prove it but it's true, do a tally next time u play a full 9 innings of ranked

I don’t notice a difference on first pitch vs any other pitch. People hit mistakes in this game. If you Throw a pitch in the zone on the first pitch, people can hit it.
