What’s your opinion on SDS allowing CAP on DD?
-
It's a video game, so I'm all for it. Whether I was creating myself, Jose Canseco, Marla Hooch....it was cool to be able to personalize someone that you can put in a lineup and they could keep up with all of the other diamonds in this game. Kinda frustrating how they switched it over to the archtypes because quite frankly after 2 years I still have zero clue how to go about that.
-
Good because you basically have a free switch hitting 99 player u can play anywhere and customize as u see fit early on with some grinding.
-
I hate it. It’s cheesy as hell.
-
its time for CAPS to leave online play. If you're a person that complains about future stars, but uses a CAP then you are a hypocrite.

I’m 50/50 on it. I like it cause it lets you customize your player and put him where ever you see fit but CAP pitchers are a nightmare I would assume. I watched a couple of content craters on YouTube going up against CAP pitchers and they even complained about how OP CAP pitchers can be.

Why is it cheesy? A CAP pitcher with an absurdly deceiving delivery that makes it impossible to hit I could understand.
But what makes using a created player any different than using say using a cracked out Aldeberto Mondesi card with 125 power and 99 speed when we know he's furthest from the thing? Or any of the other juiced up Finest/Legend cards they throw on us?

facing some made up player named [censored] cheese wearing number 69 with 120 power and 100 plus contact is just cringe. We dont need it in the game.
-
you can only face so many Switch hitting Michael Oxlong's year after year that it just gets boring and cringe.

That is one of many reasons why I hate it. There’s already plenty of options to use that are at least a real player.
It’s not some made up freak show with a derogatory name that basically has zero flaws and you can choose any swing. The pitchers are even more ridiculous being a sidewinder throwing 102 with a 70 off speed pitch.
Very rarely I’ll see someone actually use a CAP to represent a player that’s not in the game. That’s a little less cheesy. But it’s just totally unnecessary.

I hate CAP pitchers they shouldn’t exist in DD with there cheesy side arm delivery. But people need to get over it the developers have already embraced the made up stuff look at all the Future stars card we getting Tmm it is what it is .
-
Sucks. But they're monetizing "Ballplayer," so doubt it's going anywhere.

future stars are real life players, caps are made up non real corny gimics, Future stars promote the players, get fans excited about up and coming players.

I know this isn’t the 1st year them allowing this but it’s my 1st year playing MLB coming over from Madden whom I played MUT for over 6 years. EA never allows that to happen so it’s a nice feature of SDS. I made a 1B, I know it’s not the best position to make considering there’s plenty of options at 1B and I didn’t know better.
My problem is idk if I can ever replace him. 120 contact on both sides and max 125 power on both sides with 105 vision and a respectable 75 speed. There’s absolutely no one in the game better than him with those stats early on and I don’t see anyone coming close to those stats that will make me consider switching him. Even though I like that they let you use CAP I also think it’s an advantage cause early on you can make your players the best player in DD with absurd stats like my CAP.
I haven’t played online in a while but I remember a couple of weeks ago I played a CAP pitcher and I seen he was a 65 ovr and I was like cool he should be easy to hit. This was at a time I didn’t know they all show up at 65 ovr regardless unless you pause the game and look at his stats. He had a glitchy release and wind up so it was very hard for me to hit anything and also he was just quick pitching the whole game.
Long story short I quit after the 6th inning cause I got down 3-0 and I suck so I knew I wasn’t gona make a comeback. But I was frustrated I couldn’t hit a 65 ovr pitcher lol not knowing what his exact stats were but I’m pretty sure he was probably a 99 ovr player like my CAP but I didn’t know they all show up as a 65 ovr regardless. What your guys opinion on this?
DD started out with Dynasty players where it was basically an entire team of CAP's. You could rent MLB players for 10 games to fill the holes in your line ups. You would even get Dynasty points to add to their attributes. They are keeping that alive and it should be kept IMO. I plan to use it to create my fav players that are not licensed like Bonds or maybe Andruw Jones.

they are projecting what some of these guys will be years from now. technically none of them are that good yet so to me it kinda still falls in the made up category just my opinion anyways CAPs ain’t going anywhere .

keep CAPS relevant be leave them for offline use, they expand more on mini seasons, or more offline modes and people can create those and actually replicate there favorite players.

aka hyping prospects up so they can get recognized, the future stars cards are never the end game cards, theres maybe 1 or 2 end game ones but none top the top dogs and the end of the game. Future stars are great for the game,

Listen I fall under the I use what’s available category if they got rid of CAPs in DD Tmm I honestly wouldn’t really complain much . But as long as they are available in DD I’m Using a 99 Joe random all Diamond equipment with a mullet at Catcher or SS depending on what the situation dictates lol.

I hear the most popular positions are pitchers, catchers, and SS. Rightfully so cause pitchers can be a nightmare to go up against. Catchers and SS are the positions that lack a lot of OP players. I wish I can make my player a SS or catcher but I don’t wanna go through the whole grind all over again. I might do so when the new program drops for the XP thoigh.

CAPS are 100 percent cringe.
You’re telling me there aren’t enough usable cards in the game?GTFO and GFY
