Try WiFi and then running some streams in the background which will clutter your bandwidth. You'll be surprised how much more favorable the timing windows will become. Lag compensation at its finest. You should Google that term if you're not familiar with it, lag compensation.
Interesting, you think it may have something to do with the occasional out of pain homerun?

This is a weird thread.

Interesting, just learned something new after googling it. So essentially you have a bigger timing window when you play with lag?

In theory, the worse your connection the more the game will compensate that connection. Call of Duty had this formula for years to ensure that no player would have a significant advantage based on connection quality, resulting in people who had poor internet being "boosted" and people with good internet being "delayed" which would balance the playing field. This technique is still very popular in P2P style H2H gaming, which is exactly what MLBTS is as well. Of course you'll never get an answer from SDS about any of this, but a critical thinking person is able to connect these dots fairly easily.

man I'm just not good enough overcome these wild timing windows. Hardwired, 1GB connection as well
sigh
I’m assuming this is in an online game against another player? Then lag happens. The few times I’ve bothered to play online, the lag is always terrible.

Didn't Bob Gibson hit that? Says so when Bob comes to the plate.

Majority of people have poor internet. That's just a fact. Games are designed to cater to people with poor internet because that is what most people have. People questioned me on here when I said the game plays better on mobile hot spot than wired fiber.

I've never questioned you once, I know you speak truth. Most people who question you around here are people who are annoyed with the frequency of which you bring this up and also that this seem to be the only thing you talk about. Again - this is not me. I see the problem that you describe very clearly.

I have quite a few posts not about connections. Just made one about Brett being the collection and selling my Takashi cards for LS.

It definitely changes game to game.
One game, I’ll be on Allstar and have to cheat on 93 to not be late. Then, move my equipment outside, switch to WiFi with 2 bars, play on HOF, and have to slow down because I keep yanking 102mph foul. It’s wild. -
Timing only gives me a major big problem on border line paint pitches the are either going to just barely hit the border being a strike or tailing outside to be a ball. The time it takes me to read the trajectory of the pitch makes me always have a late swing. Most times when contact is made, its either going to be a foul ball, pop up out & weak easy ground out. Epesially on 2 strikes when you are forced to swing if unsure it would be a strike or not & it being too close to take a chance on taking it & being called out on strike 3 looking.

I have felt like lag/connection issues really haven't been an issue for me this year, but I have definitely started noticing things the past few days. I think the issue has been more subtle than in the past and it has taken me longer to notice. I have actually been playing much better the past few weeks. Really taken a different approach with hitting and have had solid results...but then I will have a random game where I can't hit anything at all and my PCI shows to be in all kind of weird places from where I had thought I had it. I also seem to be swinging at pitches that I wouldn't normally. I have been crediting those to me being off, having a bad game and not having good plate discipline.
This morning though I played a game where I faced Kyle Wright and I pitched Mussina. I have really never had much trouble with Wright, but same thing was happening. I just couldn't square anything up, even though I felt like I knew where it was coming...was late, then I would be early...was swinging at pitches I wouldn't normally. It also felt like my PCI was not smooth when I would move it around before the pitch. It was not super noticeable, but it was different. However, that wasn't the biggest issue for me. I am pretty good with pinpoint and specifically do pretty well with Mussina. His pinpoint and command are typically pretty easy for me. I could not control him to save my life. My PP was just a touch off on every pitch and I was falling behind to every batter. He was brining runs across each inning and I finally had the most luck when I just tried to mix up pitches thrown down the middle. Eventually I quit. Went right into another game...PCI felt normal....few hits and runs in the first and I was able to dot with Carrasco. He quit in the middle of the second.
I was the home team for both games. This tells me I had the better connection for both games, but tells me maybe the guy from game one didn't have the best internet. This all was important for me to realize, because I think it will maybe help me not overcompensate when these things happen.
