Elite players, a little advice please
-
Do yall play with the automatic shift turned off? And if so where do you turn it off?
I've been playing with it on and the only time it helps me is by saving a single up the middle, but I get burnt alot by slow players getting opposite field doubles on very late jammed swings on 100mph pitches.

You can turn it off on the Settings page under Fielding. It's close to the bottom of the list.

I turned it off this year and it has really helped. I’m am offline player who plays against the cpu, so online play could be a different story.

I always turn it off the moment I fire up the game each year. For every time it helps me, it hurts me, and often I misplay a ball expecting a fielder to be in a certain position (and he’s not), which usually results in extra bases.

I am not close to elite, dont know how many if any we have on these forums, but turn that mess off dude H2H for sure. One of the first things I do every year when I fix my other settings.
-
Not elite but I turn it off too, if I decide to shift against somebody that is always early then I do it manually, that allows me to shift my IF and let the OF straight to avoid jammed hits to become extra bases

What you mean by automatic shift? Like where you want to place the infield guys and outfield? I noticed with when Matt Carpetenter at the plate facing a righty that the infield guys always do a dramatic shift idk know why they do it and when I barely hit it to the left I alway get a bases and just scratch my head at why the cpu does that.
I also noticed sometimes my team does that against certain hitters and I never tell them to shift. Is that what you mean by that? I didn’t even know you can turn it off I don’t like using it I like my defense to be neutral
-
yes most do to prevent that cheap against shift double down the line that barely makes it out the infield

With the dolphin dives this year, you should have the shift off lol

If you turn it off, go into menu and scroll through and set up defense for each player in lineup before game. You will see the prominent hitting cones facing toward the outfield. It will ask you if you want to save setting for player click whatever button you use to accept.
At this point you can push down on R stick at anytime to see where the defense is and then proceed to use pitches that will force toward your shift. Good luck!!!

Definitely not elite but I have mine off too. Too easy to exploit it.
