Halladay Showdown

Another protip:
Remember who is on your team so that you draft a Diamond player (after the 3rd mini boss) when you already have a gold card of that person. This takes away from replacing a bronze player! Oops! -

I almost took FoTF Realmuto when I already had LS Realmuto. Instead I took Bryce Harper and crippled baseballs with him

Not that I am some Showdown guru but here is how I beat it 2 out of 3 times:
Position doesn’t matter, as said in this thread, this is an all batter Showdown.
Favor high vision (75+ to start, 85 towards the end). If your choices don’t provide good vision, go for top speed (Jimmy Rollins and Ramon Quinn are high speed and Quinn has 99/99 bunt/db
Favor Lefties but still take the occasional righty (for the penultimate boss)
If the boss has one runner on base, that would be your 8th spot in lineup. Two bosses would be 7th and 8th (however, the lineup and base positions are backwards, not that it matters). If you are fortunate to land Quinn and/or Rollins, this is where they would go
Perks: my go to perks involve anything after 7th inning or 2 strike count (all boss battles are 9th inning and you should be taking everything to get to two strikes to run the pitch count, if unlucky on Diamond perks the gold ones can suffice, or Diamond bunt cheese. Huge boost with no requirements
Ultimately if you prefer a different stat focus then run with it, however I can vouch for this strategy. My go to players to make this work (off the top of my head):
Chase Utley, obviously 97 is better that 88 or 83, don’t be afraid to take a lower one and replace it later, the upgrade in stats is worth another player alone
90 FOTF Mullins, Chisholm are my picks
84 Rollins (see above)
87 Live Soto, 75 vision IIRC with contact and power
Silver Live Verdugo, another decent situational hitter.
72 Ramon Quinn, don’t sleep on the bronze/common speedsters, great source of speed and buntingThose are just a few of my recommendations, nonetheless have fun trying this out, edit how you feel

Ray Charles could beat this showdown. They practically hand you 20,000 xp. If you're complaining about this you might as well just walk away and go watch paint dry.

It must suck having a personality of a [censored]! You should talk to someone about that.Life wouldn't be just more enjoyable for those around you, but you would enjoy life more if you didn't have a personality of a [censored]!

Do what I do and ignore him. Some people need to make up for their lack of sympathy when they were younger with how they do in a video game. Like it matters in real world scenarios.
He's probably one of the few players that are the reason SDS got rid of being able to see your opponent's online record.
They would judge people based on their W/L record. Guess it helped them feel important.

We get three perks while drafting our team...the first is a gold and then two silvers...
Also, there is only the red mini showdowns and no blue regular game type missions...
Well, on my gold perk round...I see four pitching perks and ZERO hitting perks! Thanks for the completely wasted gold perk round!
I noticed the pitching perks too. Is this not supposed to happen on showdowns with no pitching moments? I thought they would’ve prevented that.
Though I concur with the other replies that this was easier than most showdowns I’ve done in the past. Tbh, ANYTHING is better than batting against Valenzuela.
I recommend picking players who have good contact and power against righties, because all but one of the moments have you batting against Halladay. Good luck

You can still see your opponent's Ranked record before the game starts. What are you talking about?

Easiest one I ever played. Didn’t know as someone said above he has beat it 2 times that it is repeatable?

Of course, you have the mental capacity of a 5 year old! That is why you do not understand rhetorical devices such as irony! My original post was not complaining, but rather I was sharing the situational irony of my showdown draft! To understand this, one has to have the mental capacity of a six year old, so maybe one day you'll understand! However, this is a big boy topic, so this isn't a topic for you with your current mental capacity!

You can repeat it, but you don't get the extra 20K XP for the program. I do not believe there is any benefit to doing it more than once unless one enjoys doing showdowns.

It would be better if there was a pack or something at the end that you could earn every time you beat it. That would make it a little more worth the high blood pressure

I am the guy who said I win 2/3rds of the time, Just finished my 6th win, I agree with you about the pack, even asked about SDS doing more with Showdowns but all I got were non-answers. I enjoy it, strictly an offline player so the problems I hear about here don’t apply to me.

I think it is an under-utilized mode. They really ought to throw in more rewards!
And more content in general. I know this is the second month of the game’s life, but we’re going on month 3 and content is pretty dry all around.
