You could also argue Fernandez was in his 20s when engaging in his reckless behavior, while Halladay was 40.

Plus Halladay was [censored] lucky he didn't crash into anyone else. There were lots of boats, swimmers, etc in close proximity to his crash.

The point is, both of them are largely responsible for their own deaths. (and yes. 2 others in Fernandez' case)

Those 2 others is the huge difference. Age has nothing to do with anything. I feel more sorry for Roy's family because he had kids that he could've seen grow up and whatever. Jose escaped Cuba just to kill himself and two other people. What an absolute waste. His poor mother.

dramatic much? What happened to Jose and the others is awful and it was the poorest of judgements, but turn on the news for about 15-20 minutes and you'll see what a real scumbag/waste/murderer is. Jose was a good kid who made the worst decision possible, just like you/me/tons of other people in this forum have probably made atleast once in our lifetime....this one just had the ultimate outcome.

These other dudes were comparing halliday to Fernandez and I was being overly dramatic pointing out the Fernandez took two other lives with him whether intentional or not so in my opinion there is no comparison. I couldn't care less about Jose Fernandez and his accident it's terrible for his family and the other people's family. But to compare him to some guy that killed himself in an accident but didn't kill anyone else is ridiculous.

How is it ridiculous? Both were high and doing things they shouldn't have been. Roy Halladay was lucky that he didn't kill anyone.

How is it ridiculous? Because halliday didn't kill two innocent people. I don't know what you don't understand. His mistake cost him his life only that is a huge difference. He didn't take two people off this planet with him because of his dumb mistake. Jose and Roy made horrible choices that ended in their death but Jose's cost two other people their lives. That is an enormous difference. If you don't think so just ask the families of those two dead guys.

Ok, you clearly don't get it and I'm not going to change your mind so keep your head in the sand. Jose Fernandez is no worse than Roy Halladay and neither one should be condemned as a scumbag or a murderer.

The thought that the other guys on Jose boat at 2am in Miami while he was high were there trying to have some sort of intervention and are completely innocent just screams out of touch with society.

You don't mix Dilaudid and amphetamines, you essentially get a "speedball". In the end it is a shame both Roy and Jose died in preventable accidents.

Jose is worse because he was driving like a maniac high as a kite with two other people in the vehicle he was driving. Halliday was by himself he did not have two passengers with him. I see you have an angle here ut we will leave it be at your request. So we will just agree to disagree.

Well you completely just made up that entire scenario. I see you also have some sort of brain malfunction. Cheers things will get better.

For me i believe it won't be Halladay because he would need to be a 99 and it's too soon for that. Although I have no idea who it could be then. Maybe a 95 overall Steve Carlton?

I would do anything to get Lefty finally.
