I sucked at Showdowns last year (my 1st year playing), and I suck again this year. Y'all got some tips and tricks for completing those (other than "practice until you don't suck")?
-
be patient, the cpu will walk you.
-
A lot of them are against relievers so if you let their pitch count get up their energy is empty and they will throw meatballs or just walk you. Be patient is the best mind set in showdown.
-
Patience is definitely the key in showdown
-
Take 2 strikes every batter

The ones this year haven’t been that bad. Just keep trying till you figure it out. I will say that I despise that the majority of the moments in showdowns this year have been to hit a homer. That’s lame. Because it always seems like if you don’t need to hit a HR, then you hit like two. When you need one, we’ll you know the rest.

I'm in the minority, but I actually like Showdown. I would rather grind showdowns than these tedious moments or all the pxp missions this year.
-
I agree. Moments are my least favorite part of the grind. I do like the little history lesson you get from them but they can be frustrating.
-
So... I agree with everyone here about "patience".
My big thing? Perks. I load up on the "Vision" and "Contact", which I'm guessing I'll get lambasted for. I don't have any issues hitting HR's in Showdown, so contact and vision are the big ones for me. Plus, I typically play on AS difficulty offline, and the slower speeds in Showdown throw me off.
Also... I LOVE the "Rattled" perk, which makes the CPU more prone to errors. I love it when the CPU starts flinging the ball all over the place.

If you were not around for the show 19 you should go back and play that as there is a whole set of moments called storylines. One with Harper as he was the cover guy, One with Griffey, One with the Babe, one with Willie Mays and one for the 2016 cubs (which was the longest grind all for a gold Schwarber) The babe and Mays both had hidden easter egg clips that could be triggered if I remember.
I also believe the infamous Danial Nava 3 HR moment was in 2019 and I don't even think that was an extreme moment.

This. I hate the hit a home run ones. Like I just had 10 hits ina row, but none of them went over the fence so it doesn’t matter

Yep I always try to get the ones with 2 strikes. And I always try to load up on switch hitters.
