I honestly think I am done with DD this year

Pacing of content is fabulous. That and saving event lineups are the best thing they've done so far. Just need to tighten up the hitting engine. Less hits on bad contact, more hits on good contact. Less diving plays also and some more packs.

Not a rant post really just came to realization that this years DD is lacking a lot for me to continue playing.
I will be playing Franchise and Road to the Show from now on but DD is done for 22.
Content has been lacking in my view.
Team Affinity is gone,New featured program is weak and POTM is a joke. Not to mention the grind needed to get Rizzo.Just not fun.
PXP is the single worst addition this year for program progress I think.
Forcing me to use players I don't like to progress very very slowly towards the program is not ideal.
Hitting is bad both online and offline and diving plays are OP.Mini Seasons is a good idea but too shallow and kinda broken for some folks.
Collections are underwhelming really.I only like Gibson,Utley and Jansen.
I will continue playing the game but DD is an L this year from me.
Agreed. In general they made:
1) the grinds longer
2) rewards worse
3) rewards path decreased to 1 program
4) online play frustrating RNGNo matter where you turn for fun, there’s a bug, crappy reward, or a not-fun grind waiting for you.

It wasn't done for no reason though.
- Longer grinds = Less patience and more likely to buy stubs
- Lesser rewards = More likely to buy stubs to get the card you want
- Less reward volume = More likely to buy stubs for the market
- More RNG = More frustration from good players, more participation from bad players. More time = More likely to buy stubs
Whenever the question is why, and it relates to a business? The answer is almost always money.

I've seen a couple of people use the term "meh" to describe this year, and I have to agree. The last 3 versions, I played / grinded pretty endlessly. It always felt like there was something to do or accomplish, whether it was a program, conquest or even just working the market to get stubs.
The game this year has absolutely been massaged for one thing and one thing only: To make you buy stubs. Flipping is awful compared to last year. The cards dropping aren't nearly as desirable as at this time last year. The amount of packs / stubs being given out for completing goals is WAY down. I can't prove this next assertion, but it definitely feels like packs aren't nearly as fair. Really the one thing I can compliment about this year is that there aren't any overpowered cards that EVERYONE has in their lineup, so the PACING of content is better than most years, in my opinion.
Really the game feels like a grind this year, and as many others have said, it doesn't feel nearly as rewarding. Hell, I remember doing one division of exchanges in TA last year, and being bombarded with packs and stubs. This year? It's like a trickle.
Well, regarding packs being nerfed...
As NMS, I usually buy a 50 pack when I have about 90K. So far this year I've pulled Trout, DeGrom three times, Soto multiple times, J-Ram multiple times, Acuna three times...many others.
I rationalize it by saying that my luck is offset by many others getting absolutely shafted....

lol Oh hi it's me...absolutely shafted.
I only need 7 cards to complete the live collection: deGrom, Scherzer, Tatis, Acuna, Trout, Ohtani, and Vlad Jr.. Easy peasy -

Totally agree and agree with other good points by other posters here.
This is the first year I feel like DD is more like EA or 2K. Now it's not that bad, but I get that vibe it's going that direction.
I can only speculate but after the enormous success that was MLBTS 21, did the suits finally get involved and try to max the monetization of this mode? I can't blame them, it's a business and all about making money but always felt like THIS GAME and THIS MODE was more geared toward the fan vs EA/2K where its all about making money.

In this topic: last year they let you print your own stubs. And gave me 99’s 3 weeks into the season. It was too easy.
This year it’s too hard to get 99’s and it takes to long to do things. And there aren’t enough stubs or packs.

Everyone is acting like player missions in programs didn't exist last year, but they did...Can someone explain to me why you think getting pxp is so much worse than *5 extra base hits", etc, like it was last year?? To me they've made it so much better. It's way easier to keep track of, you don't have to remember who needs to do what, and you get progress no matter what. As opposed to last year where if you didn't do the specific thing you got no progress at all. That was much more of a grind and waste of time.

I am a little bored, but I don’t blame SDS. People are just upset they didn’t get Buxton or some other perfect player as POTM.
The grind is pretty easy IMO.

Because '5 extra base hits' or 'Beat X Team vs CPU on All star or higher' were set goals to achieve. There was a purpose and a path. Now there is no structure.

On the surface they don't seem that different but it seems like every Program has these, which I don't believe was the case last year.
This year it seems like every single program, from the main program to ALL of the "other programs" want us to swap out the players we would like to use for players we don't really care about. It just seems that way, at least on the surface. For those of us who limit how much we play that could mean 3 or 4 days or even a week of playing with cards we don't care about, at which point there will be a new program with more missions wanting us to earn PXP with a different group of players we don't care about.
I'm not a fan of it but that is the way it is designed this year. I'm already spending less time in the game this year than last year. I think it is a combination of burnout and not enjoying these missions.
I am going to do my best to finish the POTM Program and see how I feel after that.
