Haha no. I lost about 60k, mostly because u completely forgot about the update.
Also prices usually go down during flash sales because alot of people are trying to sell quick to buy packs.

I didnt invest in anything the first go round. Well technically maybe I did after gathering dozens of Jeremy Pena's the first week of release. But that is more of a long term thing as he may never even hit gold this year. But did got from a common 64 to a Bronze 69 first update!

If he keeps it up he will. The average may need to get better tho. Power and glove might not be enough.

Didnt invest but i bought Hader for 19 300 on the 19th, Ramirez on the 25th for 28k, and Iglesias a few days ago for 2k.

so i did win a little bit.(all to collect)I also bought some guys a few days ago that got more expensive. Jose Ramirez for around 28k and Buxton for about 9500. As I was completing the AL central. Also paid 10k for Grandal, oops.

Best time to sell is right BEFORE the update. Wander, for example, was way higher a couple days out than he is now.
My investments are kinda shot in the dark long term. Adell, for example, and Jesus Sanchez. Inexpensive with potential big payoffs later. But probably not...lol

I invested in 20 different cards I felt was going either from Gold to Diamond or Silver to Gold or jumping from Common straight to Silver. I guessed wrong with 20 of them & busted with 12 of those 20 because they actually went down instead of going up or at least staying the same with no change.
My only winning investments Gold to Diamond were Iglesias, Rodon, Lindor, & Albies. With Sliver to Gold was France. And the pay off profit for all of these were not as high as I hoped. Not even during the flash sale.
Who did you invest in & that paid off very well for you?
Rodon was the first gold that I got (for free from a pack I earned), so I'm pleased that he went diamond.

At this point in the game only diamonds have significant value over QS. I do not have the time or stubs to invest in players so I just hold the cards I get and hope for the best. If someone goes up or is needed for an event then I move some duplicates.
