Pitcher gets DRILLED & then turns into an out!!!!

It wouldn't be as big of a deal if it didn't happen so often. The fact that it happens a lot is my issue. A line drive drilling a pitcher is a fluke play and happens very rarely, but in this game it happens once every other game sometimes. I get that the pitcher doesn't show any reaction to getting hit by a 100 mph line drive because there is no injuries on... but maybe they could at least make him stall for a couple seconds before making a play on the ball. They should just make it never happen or at least far less than it does.

In that situation when a pitcher is hit by a line drive, he should be taken out of the game no mater what & can not make any play at all upon getting hit. Not attempting to field the ball or running to 1st base to cover the throw. Even if injuries are set on off. He is only being taken out of that game. He is NOT losing his next start. They need to simulate the realistic after math of how a pitcher will react when hit by a line drive. Not be like Superman having bullets bounce off him & he feels nothing & can continue on like nothing. LMAO

In ‘16 such a play would result in a injury. I really wish they would bring injuries back. They were fun and encouraged players to be smart when picking bats for the bench.

The 87th most popular game on Twitch isn’t there true market. They just let them tease a card to stay happy, I’ve never seen SDS host any streamer or even attempt to help out the content community’s since Sony Partners.

Have you not watched a streamers live stream? It's diamond pulls left and right, it also happens to be the ones that are tied to twitch packs. That's a marketing thing bud, all companies pull this garbage.

With SDS going on over 10 years making this game, 1 would think they can get this portion right & fixed with what I'm going to talk about now.
It just frustrates me & angers me when I hit hard smoking grounder or a chest/head high screaming line drive which should clearly be a guaranteed hit up the middle, however instead it hits the pitcher & deflects off of him straight top either the Catcher or 3rd Baseman for them to field & throw me out before I get to 1st base. What is EVEN "MORE INSANE" is when it deflects off the pitcher & head towards the 1st Baseman & then this Pitcher after getting drilled by a ball can recover unscathed & is able to easily jog to 1st to catch the ball thrown to him by the 1st Baseman for the out.
This needs to be fixed. REALLY!!!!!!!!!
IMO it just cheapens the game with making it look more arcade type when that happens. Even if the Catcher or 3rd baseman was able to still field the ball & throw to 1st, then ok. But the 1st Baseman cant, unless he was able to get to the ball & then get back to 1st base in time or is able to tag the runner on his way to 1st base. There so be "NO WAY" the pitcher could be further involved on that play. He should be either laid out on the grass or on 1 knew in pain from being hit. Then the game could mod it if he is ok enough to stay in the game or needs to be taken out.

Not me…. Tel that to real pitchers that get hit. Bigger concerns imo. Like dookie results on hits, too many bloops, too many non realistic bombs on under the zone pitches….. I get more made when it hits their feet or they instantly come out their follow through and somehow catch a ball on the opposite side of the follow through

I have no opinion on the issue except I do question the expectation of a guaranteed hit in any situation.
When sports game devs start compromising the simulation aspect of the game based on expectations from players about what should and shouldn’t happen (when that expectation isn’t based on what happens in the sport IRL, eg a guaranteed hit in baseball) then the game shifts more towards the ‘arcade’ end of the realism continuum.

Just watching todays Mets/D-backs game. Bottom of the 8th had a 1-2-3 out which deflected off pitcher Seth Lugo (leg not head) and bounced back to McCann to throw to Alonso for a great assist.

Pitchers are like a 20 feets large post who can catch behind the back a 118mph rocket off the bat of Vlad Jr. like it was monday morning at the shop ... Everybody knows only Big Sexy Bartolo Colon can do this !
