Any other developer is free to purchase licensing rights go ahead and step up

EA and 2K seem scared. I repeat. Seem.
Reluctant may be a better word.
They had Baseball before. I know people that worked on those may be long gone from the company, but those companies did make Baseball games, but may be afraid to challenge SDS, the way no one challenges EA and Madden arcade Football

Hate to say it but this is arcade baseball and has been since ‘17. We have to accept that we are all getting older and SDS has to cater to a younger fanbase.

People crying about servers need to buy an Ethernet cable.

Lol. Wired or wireless only affects how well you connect to YOUR connection. Not how well you connect to the server. Or what the servers are doing.

No, what MLB should have done is abolish exclusive rights and allow multiple developers to develop baseball games for any platform.

    A. MLB doesnt want fly-by-night operations to start releasing flash-level games. They wanted to exert some quality control and you really can’t blame them.

It's common knowledge that any form of market competition will always benefit the consumer, and any lack of competition will always hurt the consumer.

    B. It’s common knowledge that MLBTS has plenty of competition, from CoD to Madden to Elder Ring to Netflix to D+ to Dr Strange to Spotify to CNN+ (well … not anymore) to MLB itself. All vying for that precious disposable income.

If you can’t see that, you really should look into enrolling in a basic ECON class down at your local community college.

This coming from the same guy who couldn’t wrap his head around licensing and patent licensing while playing a game fully licensed by MLB?. As the show historian you should remember our conversation about DDA from ‘19.

I remember. @Victor_SDS_PSN said I was “basically correct” and that you were 100% wrong.

It was a pretty good day.

There's no DDA in MLB the Show

I'll prove that all day, every day, and twice on Sunday.

Game is fine across all these additional platforms. They're doing something that most of the other Sports games wish they could do. Allowing people on all platforms to play against people on all platforms. Not the nonsense that EA and 2K do for games like Madden, NBA, Golf etc.

    Stadia/PC, Xbox, PS all separate.

I didn’t say there was, in ‘19 I simply stated that EA had developed the technology and that it wouldn’t be impossible for SDS to implement it if they wanted to through patent licensing. We can all argue about it until we are blue in the face but the fact remains the tech is out there and SDS has implemented dynamic difficulty in their games, whether its creeped to the online portion of it is only for them to know.

Competition will raise the stakes and improve the game. I’m all for ea or any other developer to make another MLB game. It would benefit all of us.

I remember him preaching there was no DDA in the game which was completely out of touch with the topic, I said it was quite possible for them to acquire the tech through a patent license, you being the pretentious pr*ck that you are claimed it would be impossible, all the while playing a game that uses licensing. Just like you are wrong about your little competition speech. A) it’s not Econ 101 its Business and Marketing and B) what was being discussed was the implementation of a direct competitor which you only mention one possible direct competitor. Replacement competition (which is about half of the competition you named)doesn’t nearly have as big an impact on product development as a direct competitor. You might know that if you went through more than Econ 101 at a community college.

I have 2 MSc degrees but please tell me more about community college.
