Anyone else struggling with this? It’s insane. I’ll add the caveat that I usually finish showdowns on the first run and typically complete most of the missions. I’ve failed 3 times in a row on this, one of them coming at the first Ohtani. Like, what???

It’s so crazy difficult with not much margin for error (I generally hate HR showdown missions). And there’s been some I’ve given up the hit when you can’t give up a hit. This is just getting stupid. Ohtani killing me with the splitter under the zone and then he’ll dot a fastball on the lower line that I lay off trying to avoid the splitter.

I just wasted several hours of my life trying this and failing three times because I don’t even need XP because I’m done with the program.

I got to the end needing 4 runs and quickly got 5 outs with nothing to show. Was a little nervous. But with 7 outs I finally got something going and finished it with 6 outs left. Easily could have went South but usually it just depends on how much I'm paying attention lol.

The missions were tough...Don't need a HR...Hit nothing but HR's. Need a HR, can't hit to save my life. I went in down 6...was like that'll be fine. Not realizing i only had 12 outs. Got a little nervous. Ended up getting 3 of my first 4 guys on base. Hit a Granny with Gold Renfroe. Got the next guy on and then LS Devers hit a 2 Run shot. But then got down to my last 3 outs before I scored my final run. I lost my Diamond Exit Velo Up when Losing perk when I tied it up. I think that hurt me a bit.

Without the showdown the card will take a very long time to achieve. Maybe a easy to frustrate people into buying one. Lol

Why the hell would you even think about doing a Showdown if you don't need the XP? That's...disturbing.

Hit 1 homerun in 3 innings. Bet your sweet [censored] that homrun isn't happening until the 3rd, if at all lol.

If you manage to not give up a hit while not being able to control your defense!!! LOL

Yeah - you kind of need those 25 points for the program. Was happy to get it done on my first try and got all the missions done but was surprised that every single mission was just hit a HR. Many thanks to Bryce Harper! 👊

Nothing is more aggravating than Showdown. I hate them. I'm usually able to do them in a few tries but it doesn't make me hate it any less. I tried this one once, completed all of the 1 run missions but only 1 of the 2 run ones, went into the final 12-8, made it 12-12 with the winning run on 3rd and popped out.

If there was no other way to finish the program I'd do it, but I just made an all Red Sox lineup and pitching staff and I'm just going to grind the program out that way doing mini seasons. I was grinding mini seasons anyways so it's the same difference.

Tried again this morning. Got through to the second Ohtani before I had to leave. Missed probably 3 missions. Ohtani missions came down to almost the end. I dont have a lot of faith I'll finish when I get back on.

It would be nice if I didn't ground into a double play every time I have a runner on first. I tell myself to get under the ball and still end up hitting lineouts or grounders. It's like the CPU pitching moves magically at the last minute. I've got a bunch of 90-100 power hitters and can't get any exit velocity to save my life (or showdown run). Good input isn't being rewarded.

I was a bit apprehensive about this SD based on some notes here, and especially after failing just my first mini mission, but somehow ran the tables the rest of the way. Do recall 1 mini (maybe last one?) where I needed a HR against a LH with sinker + circle. Found two hits but just nothing doing, last guy was silver Eugenio Suarez (weird not to see him as a red!!) and PP blast.

Go into final boss down 2…work through first 8 with 1 run and have bases loaded, sub babe for my pitcher….grand slam…it was so beautiful to watch…

I found ohtani there a lot of balls ([censored] that splitter), so just be patient and keep grinding.

Was down 12-6, but got an RBI double with one out remaining to beat it on my second try today. Be patient, and wait for pitches up in the zone would be my advice.

As if showdown wasn’t stupid enough, they made nearly every mission the same stupid thing. “Get a HR before they get a hit.” Ahhh lick my grundle.

    That's called SDS being lazy

It takes time to come up with creative missions
