Jackie Robinson Day being exclusively on Apple TV sucks
-
I have Apple TV so it’s not a problem for me, but to grow the audience for baseball this is terrible for the game.
In one of the most important days of the year, not only for baseball, but for civil rights and Jackie breaking the color barrier, having all games being exclusively on Apple TV is dumb.
The new deal with Apple TV sucks as well. Every game on Friday, the start of the weekend, to watch baseball you have to get Apple TV+. This is idiotic in hopes to try and grow the game. It would be fine if the last game on Friday night is streamed exclusively on Apple TV, but it is every game.
Not to mention the Apple TV broadcasts absolutely suck. Last Friday was terrible and heard nothing but bad reviews. It’s a money grab for the MLB, which sucks because they are stuck in contract so they can’t get out of it.

I don't think all the games are only on apple tv. I'm currently watching Mets-Diamondbacks on the SNY app. I could be wrong tho, maybe the rest of them are on apple tv. If that were the case I would agree that it is not a good move
-
The games on apple TV are free today, as they were last week as well. MlB tv has also been free this entire opening week.

I have to tell you this was a complete waste of your time. You are dead wrong on the Apple TV thing. I have MLB TV and I can watch every game. There are only two games on Apple TV and those are free to people that don't even have Apple TV today. Those games are the White Sox and rays as well as the reds and dodgers. What else are we complaining about that we have no clue what we are talking about? Put down the pitchfork, baseball will be just fine.

Not sure where you would be able to get the Astros besides apple tv myself. I'm using SNY because it's the Mets specific channel for games. You should be able to use the mlbtv.com app tho. Just need to subscribe and you can usually watch most games

I'm in Chicago and a Cubs fan. I also have MLB TV I do every year I love it. You can watch every game in the league. But there is a kicker, you cannot watch your local teams lol. You have to watch that through your local channel or app which is the Marquee Network for cubs. So if you are a Mets fan and live in the New York area and you have MLB TV, you pay $140 a year but cannot watch the Mets or Yankees games. This is why cable companies need to go.

That's such a weird set up. I hate all the hoops we have to jump through nowadays just to watch all our teams games.

Yea but you have to pay $140 for MLB TV through the app and even then there are restrictions. It's free for the first week but then they only allow one free game a day.

I am pretty The Dodgers still have there contract with Spectrum, In order for me to watch the Dodgers I have to have spectrum which sucks as well but it has been like that for about 5 years now. The Radio is free, I tune into the radio and I love the radio broadcast better then TV.

That is not what your post was about whatsoever. You were talking about today being Jackie Robinson day and nobody being able to watch baseball unless you have apple tv. And then you went on a rant about civil rights. Everybody is able to watch baseball today for free
-
Watching the Mets on MLB TV. But yeah the whole idea of Apple TV sucks. It's a marketing show with the occasional baseball. Steve Jobs would be disgusted.
-
I stopped buying mlb.tv a few yrs ago and have not missed it not worth it. Plus the same commercials over and over and over again its pitiful. They need to bring back commercial break in progress screen.
-
I wonder how many people will be mad when the realize that all Thursday night football games are Going to be on Amazon Prime only unless it’s a local game. Seems to be the way sports are going
