So since the release this year, I have been struggling with pinpoint pitching on Xbox Series S. I thought maybe I had just been out of practice for so long that I needed more reps. Having to replicate the analog motion presented very laggy and jumpy input on the movement, and then when I would have to make the pitching delivery by pressing down on the analog stick, sometimes the animation bar would stop half way, resulting in a mistake pitch. I went to Twitter to ask the community for advice and several people spoke on how the Standard licensed Xbox Controllers are a problem for several others, so they recommended a Power A controller (off brand) and that should alleviate the issues. Let me tell you just how right they were. the difference is night and day. It's like watching an animation in 30 fps and then watching an animation in 120 fps. Everything is so much smoother with this other controller, and I just need everyone to know that if you are struggling on Xbox to pinpoint, its not you. Its the controller.

I've got one of the Power A controllers too. It's definitely nice being able to locate a splitter.

Completely agree. I could never through a splitter to save my life. But I purchased a scuff controller for some other games I play and what a difference it makes for the show. I can now throw every pitch correctly without issue.

I have ps5 and series x, and the main difference for me is that it seems like the framerate on xbox is 30. Moving the pci is jumpy/laggy. On ps5 it's smooth as silk. The difference is very noticeable.

And yes, the xbox controller sucks for pinpoint.

So I was experiencing the same thing you were with the stuttering and frame rate issues on my Xbox Series S.. believe it or not, it is directly linked to the controller. With the Power A Controller that I have, the pinpoint animations are smooth as butter as well.. It's so weird how a controller can have an effect on FPS.

Which Power A controller do you have?

I was using pinpoint this morning and definitely saw more noticeable framerate dips during gameplay not just cutscenes.

Its not Framerate, its the controller. I just purchased an Xbox Series X and learned, through testing, it can do up to 120 FPS if you have a capable monitor/Tv. And change the setting to 120 Hz. If you put it at 60Hz it will be higher quality detail and maintain close to 60 FPS during gameplay and dip slightly on cutscenes.

And Yes, I also noticed the control issues. Its worst when pitching and you can even slightly feel it when controlling the PCI. But it really doesnt affect hitting.

I think it’s your display, not the controller. MS has went out of their way to constantly improve controller latency.
