Don't get me wrong, I am an offline grind kind of player. However, I do like to grind for stats though, just not playing. The mission so far are just xp related and not stat oriented. I like going for the 5 home runs with this player or 30 hits with a certain position. I hope that stuff gets added at some point or this game is going to get real boring quick if everything other than moments is xp based.

I don't know how anyone that doesn't play online even stays interested in a game like this. If you don't play events and Battle Royale and rank seasons I think I would be bored after an hour

I don’t know, I’m mainly an offline grinder and I dabble here and there in ranked and BR. I’m an average player at best so online gets a little too sweaty for me at times. I stay interested because I absolutely love collecting cards and completing missions, etc. It’s just fun to me

Well the missions for the classic players are parallel XP based so hitting hits or HR's will advance it quicker.

All I know was that in 18, when you had to put some bronze player in your lineup and get so many extra base hits or HR, I quit playing the game faster than I ever had before.

Let's be honest, there wouldn't be a single word about this new program if everyone here had played 18.

50-whatever doubles for Albert Belle. Tons of fun.

This year, you're right. But again, it's super early. I liked offline last year because there were so many options to roster build and so many rewards paths and programs to grind. 6 rewards paths for 5 seasons of TA (a total of 30 rewards paths for that one program). That alone was worth playing the game but add all the Monthly programs, the Topps moments, the dozens of conquest maps, showdowns, The various player programs and of course the specialty programs like Field of Dreams and the All Star Game as well as the world series and playoffs. Finally you had the innings programs with bosses.. I really do think it'll be hard to top 21. I know the gameplay wasn't the best but that's another thing. Less than stellar game play doesn't bother the offline player nearly as much. No freeze offs, and input seems a lot more of an influence. Players like offline for various reasons. Me....I like to hit and I'm not good at that online. Getting better though.

I started playing BR late in the season and I totally get the appeal now. And this year I think the game is geared way more toward online or at least a hybrid. I know if I stay offline all year, i'll run out of steam really fast.

Agreed. It’s day 1 for me and I’ve had enough. They really screwed this game up bad this time!

This is not true for all. People are different. In fact online gaming wasn't a thing until 1999 or so. I played '21 release day up until the first week of March or so. Paralleling helped keep things interesting.

Yes I understand and I don't fault people for offline gaming. It just doesn't interest me. Conquest and moments are a chore. I usually only play the game during the real baseball season. I don't stay interested through the winter. To each their own.
