Hoping that someone might be able to give some clarity to the wording of the latest FAQ added re: Pre Order Bonus and Linked accounts.

The question says: “If I purchase on multiple platforms and my accounts are linked, will I get the bonus items from each purchase?”

“It varies by platform and the edition you purchase. Linking accounts between Xbox and PlayStation will allow you to receive the bonuses from purchase of MLB The Show 22 on those platforms, regardless of which edition of the game you purchased. Players who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition or the digital version of the Standard Edition on Nintendo Switch will not be able to share bonus items across platforms, even with linked accounts. Players who purchase the physical version of the Standard Edition on Nintendo Switch can share bonus items, but are advised to link the account in-game (available on 4/1) BEFORE entering any voucher codes you may have, to avoid potential issues with redeeming them.”

I’m purchasing on Switch and PlayStation but a bit confused on the wording - will you not be able to use the diamond players on the PS at all after you open them on the switch? Is it just the packs that can’t be seen on PS?

Would love a bit of clarity around this answer from SDS

hopefully this gets addressed. Also, i'm not sure when the faq page was updated to include this information. i preordered the digital deluxe versions for both switch and ps, but made sure to read the faq page beforehand, which at the time i'm confident did not have this information. now it's too late to cancel preorders.

This is under the switch FAQ, I think the wording of the "bonus" items means the packs and stub, they are platform locked but once the pack is opened its becomes inventory and can be move between platforms

Yes! You can move from platform to platform and retain all your items and inventory. Cross-platform progression requires an internet connection and for each platform you play on: 1) a copy of the MLB The Show 22 game compatible with your console (other platform versions sold separately); and 2) platform network account linked to your MLB The Show account.

    I think its this.

So say you buy the DD for your PS5 and one copy for your Switch.

You'll get the packs and stubs on both consoles. But whatever cards you pick plus the 25K in stubs on the PS5 will be assigned to your PS5 account and what you pick on your Switch will be assigned to your switch.

So ex: you pick Randy Johnson from your PS5 pack. Unless you pick Randy from your Switch pack; you won't have him in the Switch.

And as for the stubs: Both consoles will only show 25K.

The stubs yes but let's say you got the Digital deluxe for both version even link you would only see the special packs lock to the system. Now open this packs and what ever player you pick then goes to your inventory and can be seen on all platforms. So pick Randy on PS and Vlad on switch get on all

Yeah this shouldn’t be this complicated. Can you imagine that whatever you purchased with the stubs that were locked to the system were also locked to that system? Making you use the system you purchased the preorder on is only logical to redeem but the actual post-redemption product will be shared. They would get crucified otherwise for promoting such a big feature when probably at least 75% of Switch users will be using another platform as well.

Again, this is a touchy subject and needs better clarification. I couldn't see them being on both platforms as theyre technically bonus packs.

How about this: Did you play on two consoles this year? PS and an XBox? If so, when they gave out the Server Issues packs did the cards you pulled from you PS account show up in XBox and vice versa?

If they did; then I would assume it would be the same with these preorder packs.

    Stubs. No.

But again, without better clarification from a dev; we may very well see a bunch of posts later with people complaining that they bought two seperate DD versions and they're cards aren't showing on both consoles.

    Exactly!

Best way to look at it is items purchased go through the platforms store and server. Items and inventory go through SDS servers

Yeah I'm trying to figure out which Switch version to buy. I have the digital deluxe waiting and installed on my PS5, wondering if I will be wasting money on the digital deluxe on Switch as well and should just buy the standard edition.

Same here, if I’m just going to be throwing $50 down the drain I’d rather just wait until full release. Has there been any other updates from SDS on this?

If you read the FAQ you'll see it is a waste of money for the Switch version.

    The FAQ:
It varies by platform and the edition you purchase. Players who purchase the physical version of the Standard Edition on Nintendo Switch can share bonus items, but are advised to link the account in-game (available on 4/1) BEFORE entering any voucher codes you may have, to avoid potential issues with redeeming them.

The final sentence in that FAQ is confusing. How can we link the physical Switch version in game on 4/1 when it doesn't have an early release? Unless they're implying we can link the Switch from within the PlayStation version?

If you buy the DD version on Switch, it does have early release, you just can't share the BONUS items across platforms.
