Important question for the Devs, or anyone that can please give me a definite answer.

Ok here goes.

I preordered about a month ago and then decided to cancel my order and wait to see what happens during the early release.

I got a full refund and PS stated that the game cover would still show on my console; but wouldn't be able to be accessed unless I bought it again.

I just bought it again, as I got a free $100 PS card from work.

Now when I go into download it; it just gives me a timer. Nothing about having to download it.

Is it safe to assume that the download from before is still there, because I repurchased the game, and I don't need to download it again?

Or do I need to delete that download, if I can do so without messing it up, and redownload the game from the new purchase?

It will probably auto-download in a couple of days, hence the timer. I assume it was standard version you purchased?

You should be able to pre load the game, I have both the switch and Xbox version pre loaded

Switch is the Digital deluxe and the xbox is the gamepass version that will launch Tuesday

I would assume PS version is ready for preload as well at this point

As far as I know the game should still be downloaded and you shouldn't have to do anything else.

I paid for a couple months of PS now back when RDR2 was on there and cancelled it after it was off of ps now. The game was still downloaded and taking space in my files even though I can't access it. I bought the game a couple days ago and everything still worked fine..

So you should be fine if you downloaded it previously, even if you got a refund.

This for ps4 as i dont have a ps5 and dont know if its different.
go into data storage and see if it is in with the apps.yes - you are good. No- you ll need to download from the library.

Ok. So I went into Settings: Storage: Applications and it shows a 79.72 file for MLB The Show 22. So I assume I'm good.
