Old time player with a couple questions

There was an entire stream dedicated to gameplay updates. It’s on the YouTube.
You only get the early access if you get one of the deluxe editions: pre order status had nothing to do with it.

Hitting system is the same old RNG/Randomness we’ve had forever. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if non PCI home run are still rampant again this year.
I get the game every year as a tradition but I play less and less. I’d love to get back to the old days when I was excited to play for 3-4 hours a day and enjoyed it. Unfortunately I don’t see enough changes in this year’s game to get me excited again.
Content is probably going to be good but some major work to gameplay one of these years would be nice.

I’d have to echo these sediments. It seems like a definition of copy and paste. I haven’t seen anything nor has SDS shown any thing much different. It just appears they are expanding on gameplay features that already exist. I’m sure there will be a new mode or some alteration of modes we already have. This all seems very lack luster. Now will I pre order it? Yes. Typically I do find joy and fun in this game. Despite glaring flaws.

That's the problem. Content is always good and gets better but gameplay sucks and gets worse. Non PCI home runs, perfect perfect foul balls and foul tipping everything outside the zone just ruins the game for me. They flash shiney new cards and programs but when the gameplay doesn't improve I just lose interest

This describes it perfectly. Can’t take online too seriously. It satisfies my competitive fix with head to head online but I play online in moderation.
The grind / team building is definitely fun. Hopefully they tone down the HRs and randomness. Once can dream.

That's the problem. Content is always good and gets better but gameplay sucks and gets worse. The PS5 is better for other games like war zone and games that go up to 120 frames per second. Like everything else the show is light years behind other games. Yeah, regardless of systems I'm not getting any better at the game. Either I'm just too old and not quick enough, or I just plain suck...LOL. When trying to go 12-0 or make WS and the server [censored] starts I lose interest and just stick to events where w/l's don't count.

If we're being technical here then w/l don't really count in RS either. I mean, who really cares what the record says? It's not like they gonna stamp it on your headstone or you're using it to make money.
My only real gripe with the game last year was OP cards like Cabrera and Degrom being sooo easy to obtain. I probably would have played about 25-35% more if I wasn't facing them 85% of the time. Despite having a +35 record and hitting 800 once I'm not very good at the game and facing those two pitchers every rip made me have to lock in way more than I want just to play a video game that I use to unwind at the end of a day lol

What's up to the forum I've been a part of this community for the last 5 or 6 years. I have always loved baseball my entire life. I'm in my early 40s and all of a sudden spring baseball is back and I'm hooked again as usual. Lifetime baseball fan. I do not follow Twitter and San Diego studio streams and Facebook or whatever. Over the last month I have jumped innto 21 and played some event games it just reminds me how random everything is and I'm not sure I'm ready for that grind and wasting another summer doing that in my spare time between family and career. My question is, is there any major changes in the hitting mechanics or diamond dynasty overall? After the server errors every year I always say I'm not going to pre-order and this year I haven't. Is there anything besides flashing new cards that entices you guys? Keep in mind I don't care about the offline road to the show and build your player type of stuff. I will grind through conquest or whatever for cards but it is a chore I do not enjoy it. I like events and battle Royale and ranked seasons.
My last question is, I know if you pre-order you get the 4-day early release play and some extra packs or something. I know San Diego studios is having some kind of diamond dynasty stream the night of early release. The dumb question is do I have throughout those whole four days to pre-order before April 4th or whenever the game officially drops? So in other words do I have to pre-order the game before it officially releases at midnight on the 1st or can I wait to see online how the game play is and order it on the second or third and still get the pre-release bonuses? I hope you guys can follow this ridiculously long post. Thanks for any responses.
You can order the digital deluxe at any point and get the pre-order bonuses. I didn't start until June this year and still ordered the digital deluxe for the extra packs and stubs.
To be honest it was better starting later. Less pressure to finish things and it definitely helped knocking out multiple Team Affinities at once.
