Are we talking about online or offline gameplay?

Online play. It was the most fun I had experienced with the show....arguably ever. I did not change any settings on the xbox or the tv...just one day...I was late on pitches again. I was so early at one point when switching over from PS5 to Xbox Series S that I was too early on 100mph fastballs and whiffing before the ball got to the plate. It just makes no sense.

Sounds like you’re in a slump due to timing/mechanics and not seeing the ball from the pitchers hand-release point

So there are 2 possibilites here:

    1. You're in a slump. Happens to everyone from time to time. Not every day is the same and your reaction time can be off from one day to the next;
    2. More than likely it's network inconsistency. MLBTS doesn't use dedicated servers and connection quality is notorious for inconsistency. Literally one game to the next can make a 102mph fastball look like either a mid 90s fastball, or a 150mph fastball that you simply can not touch.

My money is on the latter. Not much to do about it unfortunately, but hoping that the same goes for your opponents. Then it becomes a matter of who gets lucky more often or who makes the most pitching mistakes.

I just got a 77” LG C1 two weeks ago along with a Series X a couple of days ago, but I had a PS5 and Series S before that. You might want to change your Series X from a game console to a PC on the TV input settings, that is supposed to help minimize input lag. There are also additional settings to at can be played with on the TV and Xbox to help. Try googling LG C1 Best Series X settings.

I have the LG CX and it also has the PC option. Question- does it look worse than game mode and do you notice a difference with input lag?

To be honest, I put all of these settings on immediately after getting the TV, so I don’t really have any input on the out of the box settings. I have heard that PC is better with input lag than even game mode though.

I am willing to try this 100%. The reason that I thought there may have been an update to my tv or the game was due to the fact that I was SO early on everything. I know that reaction time varies from day to day, but it was astounding what the difference was on Series S when compared to PS5. I was unsure if it was instant game response (does not currently work on PS5 w/ LG tv's to my understanding) or if it was VRR.

I have been trying to figure this out through online message boards & other platforms the last two weeks to no avail. It was simply as if I logged in to play one day and I was late on fastballs and I have been ever since.

Hello. I was having as much fun as I had ever had on my 65 inch LG OLED C1 playing the show. I was turning around 102mph fastballs, early on them in fact. I did nothing to my console or tv & all of the sudden I am back to being late on 94mph fastballs again. I have the game on both systems and I’m back to my original PS5 problems with input lag, which pushed me towards Xbox because of the VRR availability. I can confirm I have instant game on in the tv settings.

Does anyone with this tv or the Series S have any guidance? I was hitting the ball for a couple of weeks like I never had before even on a monitor. Thanks in advance.

Does the Series S allow you to set 120Hz in the system settings like the Series X does? I would assume it does, if you have that setting, you’ll get the lowest input lag, even if a game doesn’t run at 120. With the C1 it will be a bit under 5ms.

If you have the Game Optimizer on the tv on and you’re still having issues, try to run a controller update or play with the controller plugged in. At one point, there was a controller update version that messed up latency and it was hard to play without the controller plugged in. I believe that’s been fixed, but that’s something to try.

Input lag from your opponents. Your personal setup doesn't seem to overcome bad connectivity with the person you're playing. At least from my experience.

I have the LG C1 as well. I had a similar experience. Were you able to figure out what happened? I have tried every combination of settings known to man and can't seem to get back there. Sorry to reply to such an old topic. I was astonished to see you had the same thing happen to you

I know for a fact that most of the guys on the top of the leaderboard benefit from their connection. Not sure if it is intentional or unintentional, but the ball warps when you are hitting and an outlier fastball is a watermelon on rookie for them at the plate.

It’s the connection bro. Make sure you use port forwarding on your Xbox. Just google it and it will tell you what it is and how to set it up.

It’s not your Xbox/PS5 or your LG….it’s your opponents connection. Focus your efforts on trying to gain an advantage with your connection.

I know some people have even used bad internet intentionally as they thought it gave an advantage. Might be true.

And how do you know this? I watch multiple streamers that are top 25/50 players and they are not relying on poor internet connections to gain an advantage- they actually back out of games that feel too laggy

If that is the case you are proving my point. The bad connection theory might not be accurate, but the fact they back out when the lineup menu is laggy indicates they are keen to the connection being important.

Good connection or poor connection on their end they back out when it doesn’t seem to favor them in the lineup menu.

I also have a mini theory that the congestion from their streams favor them.
