Why should RNG be a factor determining wins/loss? This is a competitive online game, not a slot machine at the casino.

There is randomness in MLB and every other sport. Why wouldn’t it be in a video game?

Because it’s a video game and the player should be in control. I want to buy this game for my input/skill to determine outcomes, it should be as simple as that.

Sounds like you don’t want to play a baseball game.

Sounds like he’s a troll who posts the same things over and over.

    Me? No.

Him? Possibly. Or he just doesn’t understand randomness in real life.

This game isn’t real life sir.

i agree the input should matter not just for hitting but for pitching to, for one of the streams it looks like the PCI will finally shrink outside the zone, hopefully if fixes the HR and foul balls that should not be touched. I think pitching got ruined when they went to the 125 attributes. Guys like Seaver, Maddux and others that are worthless online most of the time.

Nope, but there is randomness in both. If you want to argue for less in the game, that would be reasonable. You want zero.

“You know what the difference between hitting .250 and .300 is? It’s 25 hits. Twenty-five hits in 500 at-bats is 50 points, OK? There’s six months in a season. That’s about 25 weeks. That means if you get just one extra flare a week, just one, a gork, a ground ball — a ground ball with eyes! — you get a dying quail, just one more dying quail a week and you’re in Yankee Stadium. You still don’t know what I’m talking about, do you?”

Where did I say I want zero? Why can’t the PCI represent the bat and hits are determined on where you hit the ball on the PCI (Bat)?

Except for the fact that I’ve suggested numerous ideas for this game, just in the past week. What have you contributed lately? You patrol this site and look for any excuse to make inappropriate comments.

You got me. I patrol the site. Yeah that’s the ticket.

kinda the whole point in realizing this now, so when you lose a game because RNG may have played a role you dont come on here post about how mlb 22 is and complain over and over about the same game everyone has to play.

I'm excited for 22, i really hope the pitching nerfs are evident, but remember these three things that will happen and bank on it for launch

    1. Hitting online is going to feel great, were playing on lower difficulties with not the best pitchers

    2. Servers will be slow ( its just a given with any new game)

    3. Most importantly, dont get all bent out of shape cause you lost a game in week 2, rng will always be a factor in the game.

Oh...your finished? Well allow me to retort..

    1. Player items for pre-order might not be available for a week or two

    2. The Bait and Switch. Hitting will feel great the first week to solidify your confidence in this years experience. You push all your chips in and then " Attention mlb the show players....."

    3. The Domino patch...the domino patch is to fix one issue...that creates another issue....and then another issue until it's time for them to focus on '23

7.the xp exploit. Someone who's been playing the game for a month or so will discover an xp exploit that somehow the developers missed working on a game for a year

    1. Bunt dancing.

    2. Xp and stub reward adjustment when people start obtaining things to early.

    3. Bonus People realizing that pc anchor is just another way to get rid of skill gap.

    Play ball!!!

also not wrong, theres so much that happens, were in an endless cycle of wow this games great this year, then miserable, then free 99's then back to this game sucks, then the new game starts dropping legends.

Ummm no….I said “WHY” should RNG be a factor. Never said I want zero or remove it entirely. Perhaps, they could design a new hitting system that doesn’t revolve around RNG as much. Plenty of suggestions/ideas have been brought to them over the years.

I’m confident in saying, players would understand outcomes better if they had something to reference. As of now, it’s aim with something (that doesn’t even represent the bat) and hope the dice roll in your favor.

“Not a factor.” It is a factor now. So, how does one make it “not a factor” while keeping it a factor?

If you can’t even understand your own words then I can’t talk to you. This explains much.

I used to assume nonsense like this was trolling, but I’ve witnessed too much stupidity to still believe that.

Turning to insults is not a good look during a debate.

So yeah, WHY should RNG be a factor? It’s a question I had that you twisted into a statement. I’m curious as to if that’s the best they can design for the hitting to keep it “realistic”. Realistic would be having the PCI represent the bat and hits are determined by where you hit it. Are you against that idea?
