While that's not necessarily a bad thing, its not something that won't go unnoticed by sports gamers who are tired of recycled games with updated titles, I.e. Madden.

Hopeful further along in the tech test proves it has a fresh feeling to it. As of right now, with not a whole lot to do, its hard to judge it accurately

I dont believe we are gonna see much difference just playing custom practice. Its probably still basically 21. I do feel like timing windows are better though.

That's what I'm thinking too. I mean, going back to even 16 probably has a similar look and feel when there's not much to it.

Totally agree about the timing windows

If something works and works well, why change it? Sometimes in an attempt to make something feel fresh, a developer can destroy something that worked really well.

Take PS4 capture gallery clip editing, for example. Excellent intuitive user interface. Then along came PS5 and they completely destroyed the PS5 editing interface and made it an awful experience.

Or the fresh look of MLB The Show 21. Took what worked in TS20, threw it in the rubbish bin and (with the exception of adding career stats to in-game player card) created a look and feel that either took away information or just made it more work to find. Having to scroll to see full lineup when substituting for example. Or a reducing a player’s AB summary in the in-game pause screen to three lines.

I'd love to know what people are expecting different when they talk about a game being a reskin of the previous year.

Game play never required massive changes. It just needed honing so it's unlikely that those changes would be seen/felt by the majority of players.

So what's next? Menus and modes but that's not at all what the OP means. So, OP (and others)... WHAT exactly are you looking to be different such that we all notice it when the only mode available so far is custom practice?

I'm fine with the product being slightly tweaked from time to time. I'm hopeful that specific modes have fresh feeling to it, whether that be a complete revamp or something that benefits the experience.

The first little segment of the original comment has so far been proven true that people will complain that its "the same game". There's not much they can improve on graphically, its idiotic to expect games to be completely overhauled year in and year out. I'm not one of those people, just pointing it out that it has a similar feel right out of the gate.

With not a lot to do, its hard to judge anything accurately as a whole.
