A few things
-
Hey, super excited about the Switch version as I used to play on PSP all the time (I also have a PS5). Just tried to play a game in switch and noticed a few things:
1.) Meter pitching is not consistently working at all. I tried docked and handheld, as well as joycons and pro controller.
2.) The frame rate is rough. Hoping it is fixed by release. The FPS is better on docked mode, with some general lag here and there but handheld is pretty rough. The pixelation is what it is, it’s a switch… but the FPS and lag makes playing a timing game awful.
Edit:
TLDR; Meter appears to have a button bug, I saw someone else on this thread mention it too.
If the game on release doesn’t lag and the FPS stays steady I will certainly be playing this for progression or when traveling. I really only noticed input lag on meter, animations will randomly lag, and if there is a way to “smooth” out edges that would be awesome.
This port has lots of potential for sure.

Update: I’m thinking the meter bug is only certain pitches. If not, it is inconsistent. The bug is basically the meter not recognizing you pressing A at all. Classic mode works fine.
On a different note, custom practice offline seems to look better and lag less than Diamond dynasty (Play v. CPU).

Meter Bug: I appear to only be able to use meter with a slider. Every other pitch won’t let me press A and use it at all.
I am in custom practice and have tried multiple different cardinals pitchers.
EDIT: Now in play vs. CPU again. If you use B on the meter it works flawlessly with every pitch, it is just A. Lol. I don’t know if A is supposed to work at all or if there is a bug or if I am just dumb.
Yeah DD is way laggier and has more pixels. Staple frame rate would be 10/10.

I’m having similar results as your last comment there.
Meter just doesn’t respond on certain pitches… UNLESS you use the same button as the pitch you selected to stop the meter. That’s what I’ve been doing.
And the more I’ve been playing tonight, the more I’ve noticed how hitting is certainly playable in “practice mode,” but the second I go to DD, it’s impossible. It’s noticeably smoothed out in practice mode, where if that can be replicated, then that would go a long way.

Yea .. took me an inning to figure out only B registers on meter.

I was able to use Pinpoint some and Pure Analog with no issues other then the joycons being hard to use. The frame rates are pretty unstable.
I would also agree offline modes run better than anything DD.
