Pinpoint Pitching is Still Bugged

The fix is to revert the controller's firmware back to factory defaults. The feature is included within the series x/s OS. Just google it and or check out the youtube how to's. Takes 10 seconds.
FYI: The firmware update for xbox controllers kills pinpoint. And I also own a series 2 Elite.

That was an acceptable answer for The Show 21, but this is a new game and they should be able to fix it. I haven’t seen any other games have issues with the controller firmware.

Totally agree with @Car-RamRod-18_XBL … I have tried the original series-x-Controller, the older xbox-one controller and now an Elite 2 controller. It is NOT possible to throw a splitter at at least 50% accuracy (while all other pitches work)

There are many many games that were severely impacted by Xbox's "0 input latency feature" update. And many games were developed on Dev builds from microsoft that did not include their new controller "feature." My assumption is that the code for pinpoint will have to be re-worked in such a way as to notice whether or not the "0 latency controller update" has been applied and adjust the input sensitivity accordingly; and hopefully by us talking about it here, we can point them in the right direction.

Exactly. There is a way they can fix it in the game software. With a new game coming they should do that. Hopefully they see this thread when they review all the tech test feedback.

Correction guys … I just downloaded the Tech Test and used Chapman. I pitched 3 splitters and all of them were over 80% acccuracy and 1 at 98% … So, that is fixed. Thank god, I can use the splitter now … Thanks, SDS

EDIT: I use an Elite2-Controller with all the updates on it (so no factory reset, as somebody mentioned above.

It *will *actually allow you to "upgrade" the firmware on the elite 2 with the "0-latency patch" now as well, as I stupidly did recently only to be left with the inability to finish a single pinpoint pitching gesture with my 150$ controller. Luckily, I discovered how to revert the firmware, and all was fine thereafter.
Incidentally, I went ahead and reverted the firmware to factory defaults on all of my wireless controllers and they all work like a charm now with pinpoint pitching as well-- before they all were useless which is why I bought the series 2 Elite controller in the first place.
If anyone still has issues with pinpoint using Series X/S wireless controllers on 21 or 22, especially with finishing the downward part of the gestures, you only have to revert the firmware to factory defaults to greatly improve the experience.

Like I said earlier, it’s great there’s a work around but I feel like that was acceptable with 21. For 22 we’re only in the tech test so I’d rather we complain about it now and hopefully see SDS fix it now instead of just accepting that pinpoint is still bugged before the game even launches.

I agree completely. The issue needs to be fixed 100%. It's only that I have seen xbox players like us not be able to use pinpoint properly all year and I had not seen anyone, here or twitter or youtube, explain the issue and it's remedies, both short term and long term.
So in an effort to be constructive I will further the dialog. For those who have an Elite Series 2 controller, you can go into your controller settings, where it allows you to create custom key mappings for each of the buttons, etc, and if you choose the right analog stick, there is an option that allows you to set the latency for the analog movement. There are different latency settings that you can select with a corresponding line graph detailing the latency response time, and one is titled "immediate" -- it is this setting that will allow you to reproduce the issue with the pinpoint pitching gestures not being able to be completed. Just select it and save your loadout and then go back into the game and try pinpoint. It will suck, believe me. But then go back and try the other latency settings for the right analog stick and you will see that as latency is added to the button movement, the game is better able to register the gesture without erroring out.
It is my hope that SDS reads this, and that they pass on the info to the developers.
My intuition is that the Xbox gaming environment does not allow the game access to the individual controller settings, and that a workaround for the issue may be to have a setting in the game that directs you to the requisite system settings outside of the game in order to make the proper adjustment, not unlike what you have to do to turn crossplay on and off in the Xbox environment.
Furthermore, I believe the main issue is that Microsoft has not included a setting in its peripherals and controllers options to turn on/off the "0 latency feature" for its normal wireless controllers and until it does so, which may be never, we may have to manually revert our firmwares back in order to play the game properly - which I want to stress, is not a hack (and accessible by using microsoft's trouble shooting feature built into its consoles) and only updates your controller's software to a previous version that does not have the "0 latency feature" turned on by default.

Issues like this have been plaguing the game and made it unplayable at the end of 21. Please look into this issue devs!!

Guys … I have the Elite2 with all firmware updates and it works as designed. Do we play different techtests?
