As someone who just went flawless in the Tech Test with 19 homers and a .400 average, I disagree. It was the same hitting, better lag prevention. If it looked slow off the bat, it was a bad connection, but didn't affect your results.

I’m pretty confident my good pci/timing hits were hit hard. Off pci hits were not great contact which is the way it should be. I’d much prefer to have user input matter with pci and timing vs off pci hrs
