For context, I just purchased a PS5 last weekend, and have been playing MLB 21 on it frequently, as I did MLB 20 before that, and so on. Here are my honest thoughts on the game so far and a huge request/favor I have as well. Thanks.

    Graphics:

When I got my hands on the Tech Test, MLB 21 was my benchmark for next gen baseball, and although 22 is not leaps and bounds better in this category, it is noticeably different. It's worth noting I am not currently playing in 4K, but either way, the upgrades to 22 look great. The players look good, uniforms look good, the gear is nicer than ever, and stadiums, lighting, and the sky all are at their best. Job well done.

    Gameplay

As great as nice visuals are, they would not mean much if the Gameplay was poor. Luckily for us, I can not remember the last time I ever thought The Show had less than good Gameplay. Just how smooth and seamless this game runs on PS5 is amazing. The fluidity of the swing, or throw from 3rd is all so pleasing to watch. Fielding looks good, hitting feels good, and pitching feels just right. I imagine the more I get to play the game the more things may stand out or what not, but I feel pretty confident I know what to expect from this game and I can tell the game will play as good as any sports game, if not better. The team has really done a good job the past few years giving us a variety of hits, animations, and physics based baseball.

    Sound

The sound is on point, or at least from what I can hear of it is. The crack of the ball off the bat, the umpires, pitcher/catcher, etc... all sound clear and realistic. So far, so good.

    Presentation

It's hard to judge this of course, but one thing that stands out is are the menus. The interface looks good and the colors are nice. The game feels very welcoming.

    Request

Although this is more of a favor, but if anyone from SDS ever reads this, can you please allow an option for the DH to be on or off before a game? For some of us who really enjoy using classic rosters from the 60's, 80's, 90's, etc... it would really allow us to increase the enjoyment from this game we all love and would help keep classic baseball alive. I don't know how much trouble it would be, but it would be very, very highly appreciated. Even if it's only for exhibition games, that alone would be fine.

    Thank you for reading.
