Question: co-op against the ones you care about the most

In the trailer Coach says you can play co-op ‘with or against the ones you care about the most’.

In the feature premiere, Collin I think it was dubbed a voiceover that said you can only match up against randoms at launch.

Question: will it be implemented in MLB The Show 22 that you can co-op against the ones you care about the most and if so, when is it likely to be available.
