I am but I'm not great. Just going to be starting my second season here and could use all the practice I can get.

Because most pitches out of DeGrom's hand look the very same until just before they break to the plate. If you know how to tunnel effectively he can give the best players in this game fits. Nate Pearson is meh imo, you just sit fastball and the adjustment to everything else is not that hard because the pitches don't look the same out of the hand.
This is why you all are way above my pay grade. How on earth can you determine what the pitch is going to be as it comes out of his hand? Do you memorize release points, or is the hand in a different location ? I guess if you face the same pitcher over and over, but I've never been able to do it.
Also, how can one tunnel in the game? These are all actual questions, no sarcasm. It's my understanding we can't effect how or where the ball is released only the timing. Is that wrong? Also, I only use Meter. Is it a Pinpoint thing exclusively?
It's an accumulation of playing this game for many years on a high level and seeing millions of pitches thrown at me. You do actually mesmerize the release points and also the path of the baseball for each pitch type per pitcher. Of course it's still kinda hard because otherwise I'd never lose a single game and hit every ball out of the park, but yeah that's the idea.
Tunneling is making a pitch looking the exact same but with different break at the end. Like a cutter outside and then a sinker inside on the same spot. They look exactly the same but one breaks outside for a ball and the other breaks back in for a strike. You can get very creative with this and keep guys off balance.Thanks. I am learning how to mix pitches better. How can you make two seperate pitches look the same upon release? Is there any input that effects that or is it more about the pitcher and which pitches you choose? Like I get that a sinker and a fastball will have different movement but a similar release.

Basically what you wanna look for is 2 pitches that have almost the exact same travel path towards the plate, but break differently once it gets to the plate. The idea is to make your opponent think it's one pitch but it's actually a different pitch. Someone who does this really well in MLBTS 21 is Clayton Kershaw. You can tunnel his slider high in the zone off of a regular fastball, which makes it very hard to read the correct pitch and will end up in a lot of jammed hits.
I advise you to look on YouTube for guys who explain the concept of tunneling pitches. They give you examples so that you have a visual idea of how it works, it's better than me just typing it here. Look for CBrev, he explains it really well.

Degrom has much better stamina, a fifth pitch which is a much better than people give him credit for. And Pearson release points are very readable.
