The HoF is a museum that claims it was to represent the best players and the overall history of baseball.

Now its meaningless, a hall without the games best position player to ever play the game (and that is a fact) isn't a hall worthy of the sport and its fans. Congratulations to Ortiz, but there are many names more deserving who now have no chance since the Veterans committee is basically the ones ousting this era of players.

[censored] the BBWAA. [censored] the HOF.

There was an article someone posted on here a little while back that used the ZiPS formula to predict Bonds and Clemens careers if they aged like a normal player, and they both still easily had HoF careers.

It’s also extremely hypocritical of the BBWAA to favor Ortiz so highly, considering he was absolutely without a doubt on some PEDs himself. A-Rod not being a 1st ballot hall of famer is really dumb as well. Schilling deserves to be in the hall too, regardless of his non-baseball related antics. And hopefully Wagner and Rolen get in soon.

Any voter that voted for Ortiz, but not Bonds should be banned from baseball. How hypocritical can you be.

I know this is unpopular opinion, but I’m glad Bonds and Clemens didn’t get in. IF Ortiz did sterilizes (never confirmed like the other two were) he stopped before he was actually good. Bonds and Clemens took them while they were good.
When I went to the HOF in November I thought it felt very “Holy”
Yes, I know some people have gotten in after using PEDs. But these two players did it KNOWING it was against the rules. I personally am glad they didn’t get in. I am prepared for the hate I am about to receive. 😂

To be its a museum that represents everything good and bad within the sport. Put Bonds in there and explain the story behind it. Not to mention the MLB profited off of the steroid era massively and didn't even start to punish the use of it until 04. Players didn't even try to hide it. Barry Bonds was done playing by 07

    David Ortiz’s career OBP: .380.

Barry Bonds’ career OBP if you turned all 762 of his home runs into outs: .384.

The general consensus is that Bonds could’ve potentially started juicing around ‘98, but many people agree it was likely sometime in ‘99-‘01

If we just look at his career from ‘86-‘97, he already had 90.6 fWAR. If he retired after 1997, he’d still be the 26th best position player ever by fWAR. Here’s a list of some people he’d be ahead of: Kaline, Boggs, Pujols, Brett, Chipper, DiMaggio, Clemente, Bagwell, Rose, Brooks Robinson, Griffey Jr., Bench, Jeter, Reggie Jackson, Carew, Thomas, Murray, Santo, Miguel Cabrera, Pudge, Thome, Walker, Fisk, Molitor, McCovey, Larkin, Yount, Manny Ramirez, Raines, McGwire, Killebrew, Biggio, Gwynn, Edmonds, Trammell, Berra, Piazza, Alomar, Snider, Banks, Utley, Stargell, Lofton, Torre, Sheffield, Sandberg, Sosa, Winfield, Dawson, Ichiro, Molina, Helton, Vlad, etc., and of course Ortiz by a difference of 39.6
