With many bored with lack of new content, here is a little challenge I have enjoyed.

See how quickly ( how few of turns) you can complete the RIB conquest map. I have played this thing countless times and I think 9 is the magic number ( I don’t see how anyone could do it quicker as everything has to go right on the first 5-6 turns for this to happen).

Before the guys who have nothing positive to ever add to a thread come on and bash me using the word “fun”, it’s subjective. Move along.

Thanks for the suggestion. Im pretty much just doing RIB over and over at this point so it would be cool to try this method. I've also played against the 4 teams using only players from that all time team. You have to get pretty creative with the Marlins but it can be done. Dodgers, Cards and Blue Jays are easy to do.

Another thing I wanna try is to create a brand new squad of players I've hardly or never used and do the US Map once again seeing how my stats will end up.

The Marlins actually have a pretty fun all time build. Granted I can't think of the last 3 relievers to use at the moment.

    2B - Dee Gordon

I keep messaging every opponent I face and say "all commons, legend, let's go". Nobody has taken me up on the offer, but it'll be a helluva wild game if someone ever does. Would anyone even score? Would it last 25 innings?

Showdown is my most played game mode at this point. It gets a lot of hate, but I really enjoy it.

I created a all time 1950's team last night. Fielders, Starting Pitchers and Bench. Only there are no 50's catchers so I put Johnny Bench in there. There are no RP from the 50's so that is the only thing lacking

    C Bench
    1B McCovey
    2B Robinson
    3B Mathews
    SS Banks
    LF Aaron
    CF Mantle
    RF Mays

    Gibson
    Feller
    Newhouser
    Roberts
    Spahn

    Forgot the Bench Players

    Cepeda
    Snider
    Irvin
    Clemente
    Doby

I've done it in 10, but now I must do it in 9...

At least it’s something for offline grinding. Much better than the bunt dancing, R2 holding and freeze offs of online play.

Showdown at least makes you focus your attention on jt. Conquest is just a boring game mode where you watch a TV show and occasionally pay attention to the game.

BS ikasnu. You've just played this game too many hours. Imagine yourself as a new player that just bought the game. It's a brilliant game mode for them!

Also Ikasnu, you wouldn't be so bored by it if they brought back conquest extreme. They're too soft to do it, but that was the most fun I've ever had in this game. Every tile had to be played. It's easy to beat the computer on rookie, sure, but if you have to beat the computer on rookie 24 times in a row just to get to the stronghold? That gets intense.

Conquest is not lacking. We lack conquest extreme is all.

Thats true. The first year of Conquest in 17 I did the USA Map 3 times for the 10 pack bundle. It was pretty enjoyable initially. Extreme in 18 was the last time I really enjoyed the gamemode, it was actually difficult and yielded good rewards.

The way they've done Conquest Extreme recently was just boring and too tedious, but I loved having to take the Yankees on turn 2 in the USA map in 18. Imo they lowered the difficulty of extreme too much.

Still I'm in favor of nuking it to the ground, or at least giving it some QOL changes. For instance can the CPU please take over my non-stronghold based moves and sim them? Hell it takes 10 minutes to move 90 tiles it seems.

You're totally right, I had forgotten about half the players you listed i.e. Hoffman, Miller, Piazza etc. And definitely no rule against using current players. I'll throw one together tonight.

Piazza played a grand total of 5 games with the Marlins so I don't blame you there lol.

You know that Freidrich Nietzsche quote, "if you stare into the abyss long enough, it'll stare back into you"?

I can't claim to really know what he meant by that, but waiting for conquest simulations to complete just so I can simulate more conquest tiles gets me pretty close lol.

It is what you make it. I play every conquest game on legend, you obviously do not. If you play on rookie or veteran, it is mind numbing

I don’t remember the last time I went into a final showdown without having completed every mission and max runs . They made it super easy compared to what it was originally last year.

But at the same time why would I bother playing CQ on Legend when there is no benefit to it lol. I'd rather play online.
