I sucked with Ruth for his first 100 ab's. I was hitting like .250. I have since started hitting much better and now have his average up to .325. This happened with some other players such as Justice for me as well.

I started rough with a couple guys in the event, but they’re all up to around .350 averages now after my 30ish games to get Turner. However, Babe Ruth was hovering around .250-.270 the entire and didn’t hit a single home run while hitting cleanup (at least not one I remember that didn’t get dashboarded) Does anyone else suck with Ruth? I really wasn’t expecting a mid .600s OPS with the Babe after 50+ ABs

What’s weird for me is I’m hitting well with him over 400 but very few homeruns. I was just thinking to myself the other day babe is a singles hitter this year.

He's still under 50 ab's for me but I'm only hitting like .180ish with him. I benched him on my God squad cause he was doing so terrible, but last game he hit a pinch hit bomb.

Are you trying to 'push' swings with him because he's Babe Ruth?

Some people will try to hit a ball just because that player was a good hitter or they WANT a hit with them.

Maybe that's what you're doing unintentionally.

Someone did that to me in a BR game past night. Actually swung at anything and everything with a card that was a PS card; just because they were trying to get stats to progress that mission. Ironically, they struck out swinging. But this was after working the count for three players earlier.

People with having troubles with Ruth does not surprise me considering fact the guy is a balanced hitter. I cannot pull the ball to save my life with him. He hit noodles opposite or center field for me. That’s why I love extreme pull hitters so much in this game. They pull the ball easily and hit the ball for power center field. In my opinion, Freddie Freeman is the best first baseman in the game for that very reason alone. His quirks are added bonuses of course. Extreme pull hitters > balance hitters in this game.

I was so angry and let down by him that I sold him. It was kind of hard because he's looking at us on his card. That 'don't you sell me look!'

Which is crazy because he is one of if not the best in the game at going opposite field. He goes up to each at bat with the goal of hitting it between left and center field. Beautiful swing, approach and all around professional hitter. I'll also add World Champion now too! #ChopOn!

Balanced hitters has nothing to do with what side of the field they hit the ball on though. It just refers to their Contact Rating vs. Power Rating. Babe Ruth is 125 across the board so he's considered balanced...

he's my best hitter online - even his baby hits still sometimes make for a HR - i put him at 1B and Muncy's 99 at 2nd

I am referring to a player batting tendency which only can be seen on screen when you pause the game. Try it for yourself. Babe Ruth has the balance tendency while Freddie Freeman has the extreme pull tendency.

I started off slow with Ruth but he’s heating up. I still think I prefer Gehrig and Finest Freeman.

There’s just a different ‘feel’ to Ruth’s card this year for me.. he just doesn’t mash as expected… you know, that feeling you get w some other cards where the ball just launches when you connect good.

I also know that I chase pitches w him because I expect him to hit everything.. so I’ll have to give him mor AB’s and lay off the bad pitches…
